Title: Disappointing Gelato Experience with Pricey Offerings and Poor Customer Service

Review: My recent visit to frost Gelato was far from satisfactory. Unfortunately, the experience was marred by high prices, inadequate portion sizes, and subpar customer service.

First and foremost, the prices at frost Gelato were exorbitant. I understand that quality ingredients and craftsmanship come at a cost, but the prices charged here were simply unjustifiable. It felt as if every spoonful of gelato was accompanied by a hefty price tag, making the entire experience feel like an expensive indulgence rather than an enjoyable treat.

Furthermore, I was extremely disappointed by the portion sizes. Despite paying a premium, I received a meager amount of gelato. It was disheartening to see that frost Gelato was apprehensive about providing a proper portion size in relation to the price paid. This left me feeling unsatisfied and shortchanged, as if I was being deprived of the full gelato experience.

Adding insult to injury, when I requested to sample different flavors, I was informed that frost Gelato had run out of spoons. It was highly unprofessional and disappointing to visit a gelato place that was ill-prepared and unable to accommodate basic customer requests. Without being able to sample the flavors, I made my selection based on what I thought I would enjoy, only to be let down by the taste.

When I realized the gelato did not meet my expectations, I asked to exchange it for a different flavor or even a refund. However, I was told that since I had already taken a spoonful, they could not accept the return. It's frustrating that they would prioritize a plastic spoon over ensuring customer satisfaction. It would have been more reasonable for them to provide me with another spoon or a small plastic cup for sampling purposes, rather than throwing the entire container away, wasting both the product and my money.

Overall, my experience at frost Gelato left much to be desired. The expensive prices, inadequate portion sizes, and lack of proper customer service were major letdowns. I would hesitate to recommend this gelato place to others, as there are certainly better options available that offer both value for money and a more enjoyable gelato...

Really great Gelato. Have some traditional flavors but also some that are more creative. I liked their stracciatella, gianduia and dark chocolate. Otyer flavors look very appetizing too.The flavors are rich and the texture is very creamy. They have several sorbet flavors, like pineapple, blackberry merlot, strawberry champagne, mango, etc. They decorate all their gelato in display with fruits, and other things which add a nice touch to the place and makes the product stand out more. You get a nice cookie with your serving. You can buy gelato affogato (on top of espresso coffe) or with latte (hot or cold). Obviously you can also get the coffee without the gelato. The also have some bon bons that are pretty tasty. And a sampler with maybe a dozen mini cones where you can have small scoops of a different flavor on each. You can buy gelato on the store to eat right away or to take home.. they have a freezer with several flavors ready to go. The single serving to eat right away is very generous, but you can get just one flavor.. for more flavors you need to get a double or bigger serving Also they can sell you gelato cakes. The place is small, but enough to host the customers, we found a table easily. It is very clean. Staff is super friendly and helpful, they after you small cups if water constantly always with a smile. My family and I enjoyed the food and the place, also is conveniently located in the Domains, so it's a great great after shopping and...

I was just here last weekend. I was craving gelato on a hot day. This is one of the only places to get it besides ice cream at Jenis, which I should’ve went with my gut instinct and passed on it when I first walked in.

First, of all this place used to be great! Now it’s run down, dirty and falling apart. I haven’t been here in probably 4 years? Or more.

Anyways - fast forward to walking in to see all the flavors in case 1 and 2 of gelato being freezer burnt and having ice crystals all over the top, which means it doesn’t get touched, changed often, and not as fresh as it says… who knows how long it’s been sitting there?

I decided to still get it and I got a cherry flavor because it looked fine. That was good, but it was an old gooey ice cream consistency where it was stringy. I got it in a cone (my favorite treat to myself) and it was stale, because they keep them just out in the open air and not in a container.

This place is not clean, the service was bad couldn’t hear the service girl talking at all. she didn’t care to be there, she is basically forced to work.

Overall, this place is not as good as it used to be. The product is not fresh but old and stale. Don’t waste your time and money here and go down there street to Jenis where it’s...

I have nothing but amazing things to say about Frost. Their gelato and sorbets can’t be beat in terms of flavor explosions, variety, and the fact that they’re “light” on calories. No joke, I come here multiple times a week and have some kind of cold treat here, and I am having no issues keeping my weight under control 😅. Can confirm that the marketing is TRUE and that the calories are low. You can also tell by the taste of the gelato itself. It just doesn’t taste super heavy. It’s refreshing. Don’t need to overdo it with super calorically dense ice cream. They have something for everyone - sorbets, gelatos, root beer floats, caffeinated drinks including “Gelattes” which is a gelato-flavored latte, “sorbettinis” which are smoothies made with sorbet and sparkling water, gelato cakes, affogatos, and more. I can always count on Frost for a delicious pick-me-up. There’s always something for my mood whether it’s fruity or nutty or something surprising with their seasonal flavors which rotate on a monthly basis. Beyond this, the Frost staff are amazing. Always so friendly and greet you with a smile. This place is a gem! Can’t wait for my next trip there, which will probably be tomorrow.

How this place flew under my radar since I’ve been in Austin is beyond me. The cutest gelato shop hidden in a corner in the Domain! I want to tell everyone to go try it but at the same time I want to keep it all to myself so there’s no line! OK, seriously, though, I am all for this place. Gelato: there are so many options to choose from, and the portions are generous! I went there twice and try to stick to the sorbet because I am lactose intolerant (but who cares; I’ll still drown myself in ice cream)! So far, I’ve tried raspberry, blackberry, pineapple, and of course, my favourite, lemon. The gelato is made in-house and met one of the folks who make the gelato! I mean common, in-house gelato?! Doesn’t get any better than that! Service: You can taste samples if you’re unsure, and let people who know what they want pass you in line without losing your spot. This system is great because you then don’t have to feel rushed or pushed to the back of the line. I love this little gem in the Domain! I highly recommend you give them a try! And go back for seconds!!

If you are serious about your gelato and are addicted to seeking out the best, this is it in the gelato realm. Most friendly staff will be helping you to choose among dozens of flavors that have most tempting and irresistible presentation. If it’s your first time I would recommend to stay with classics and choose pistachio - it will be as good as it gets on the island of Sicily in Taurmina area where they likely invented it. I enjoyed great espresso with my chocolate gelato ball - the chocolate glaze around it is not a joke. Some of the best I have had in combination with the chilled miracle that is gelato.
