I am on downtime due to an Achilles tendon injury so I have been ordering food and being adventurous with my orders. I ordered from here as a āhell, why not ?ā I ordered oxtails ($30) and a side of plantains($4). So I will say this place can get real expensive real fast. After waiting an hour and a half for my delivery to arrive (partially, due to me living kinda out city lines) I was so disappointed that I did not get my plantains and I received a plate of jerk chicken šæ. Now with that being said I am rating on what I received⦠which is the chicken.. super flavorful. The peas & rice as well as the cabbage could have used seasoning.
Note: I did not rate on delivery time because that only has to do with the delivery program and as a delivery partner I understand the time! Now, as the restaurant responded and advised the driver mixed up orders thatās totally understandable because I have done it (keeps me woke at nights). I did check the order for any identifying information, which should be standard for pickups. There should be a receipt, note or name written on the cartons to indicate who the order goes to. This not only helps the driver but it helps the restaurant ensure the order goes to its...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis little gem showed up on my FB timeline. Reviews were good, food looked delicious and prices were on point. I decided to take a ride after work since they opened at 530, but didn't have high expectations since it is hard for me to find really good Caribbean food in the Austin area. I called ahead to see if I need to place my order ahead of time but was told no just come on by. I ordered oxtail, rice and peas and cabbage {for my boo}, jerk chicken with the same along with a side of curry chicken. Total was around $31 which isn't too bad. I couldn't wait to get home to try it. The food was really good. Flavorful and nice portion size. It is actually the best I have had in this area. It's a bit of a drive for me, but was worth it. If I am ever craving jerk chicken or boo wants ox tails we will definitely hit...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreVery friendly with quality customer service in a really neat food truck setting. The food has lots of great flavors. So far I have had the oxtail, jerk chicken, curry goat, rice and peas, cabbage, curry chicken patty, and beef patty. My favorite all-time Jamaican lunch or dinner meal is oxtail. However, although it was really flavorful, oxtail isn't my favorite dish at Iwayne's. I highly recommend the curry goat which was my most favorite. I am definitely returning for the curry goat meal which includes rice and peas with cabbage and sweet fried plantains. I am also looking forward to trying many other items on the menu including the ackee and saltfish with festival dumplings. I'm glad Iwayne's is here as a Jamaican food option. I plan on telling everyone I talk...
