I was excited to try this place today for lunch because I love Jamaican food and most of the reviews were great, however, my experience was a bit lackluster. I ordered the brown stew chicken...the menu posted at the food truck said the price was $12.99 but they charged me $13.99. I also ordered 7 jerk wings...again the menu said $9.00 but they charged me $10.50. On top of that, after I got my receipt I noticed an additional charge of $1.66 labeled processing fee. What??? And of course they want you to tip as well. When the lady flipped the payment terminal over for me to pay, it just had a total with no breakdown. This kind of thing is very frustrating. It's a principle thing...don't tell me one price then charge me a higher amount...and don't nickel and dime me with processing fees that are not advertised. On to the food...I will say the jerk wings were very good. They were very flavorful and tender. The brown stew chicken however was very dry and not very tender. Plus, the brown stew chicken plate was filled mostly with rice and I felt the portion of chicken was a little on the...

I drive down this street all the time and for some reason I just noticed these food trucks last night and decided to check them out. These other food trucks are kind of hidden so you have to find them like a treasure hunt. And I gotta tell you, the food is really good, little bit spicy and totally flavourful. The goat curry, the braised Oxtail and the Jerk chicken all served with yummy rice is all so good it reminds you of home cooked comfort food.

I had my favorite OxTail dish this week, man, soo good!! Oh, and you must must try the Jamaican meat patties, both the beef and chicken ones are awesome!!

Tonight, i came very late, so she ran out of my fav oxtail dish, so I had the Jamaican Goat curry instead. Boy, am I glad that it happened otherwise I would have never tried this awesome dish! The dish was packed with so much flavor, and the Goat was nice and tender. I do have to warn you, there are lots of little bones but that didn't bother me at all. Now I have a new 2nd favorite dish here!! You should...

I love Jamaican food, which is why I decided to give this food truck a try despite seeing some negative reviews—but I really regret it. I ordered the jerk chicken plate, which came with rice and beans, steamed vegetables, and plantain, but sadly, nothing was good. The rice was bland, like plain boiled rice with no flavor of coconut oil or seasoning. The steamed vegetables were cold and flavorless, and the jerk chicken was a huge disappointment—completely lacking in seasoning and flavor. To make things worse, the service was super slow.

And here’s the kicker—beware of the ‘processing fee.’ I was surprised to be charged for it, and while I don’t have an issue with business owners passing their costs to customers, I do expect transparency. Unfortunately, the owner wasn’t upfront about it, which added to the overall disappointment. If you’re craving authentic Jamaican food, do yourself a favor and...

First of all, everything I ate was delicious. I had the oxtails, brown stew chicken, rice and peas, cabbage and plantains. So flavorful... Secondly, the owner of the food truck is the sweetest. She's willing to answer any questions you may have. I sampled the traditional and non traditional soursop juices and the sorrel juice. They were refreshing. You have to try the carrot cake with the pecans and coconut... it's so good and rich in flavor (tried it on my second trip) 😊. Sometimes there may be a wait but it is worth every second or minute. The prices are reasonable as well. You will not be disappointed if you go. So the next time you're in Austin and in the mood for jamaican cuisine... stop by the food truck location and check her out! I forgot to take pics of my main course before I started eating but here's a snippet of the cake. Lol
