We were exploring South Congress on a hot day and needed something refreshing. We stumbled upon Magick Matcha and decided to give it a try.
Iced 16 oz Magick Matcha ($8): Made with matcha, coconut water, oat milk, blue majik, vanilla syrup, and pink salt (no substitutions). The blue majik didn’t add much in terms of flavor but did give the drink a slightly grainy, chalky texture. The matcha itself was decent quality. Overall, it was a good drink, but we preferred the ube matcha. Price has increased by $0.25 as of Nov 2025. We asked for it to be a bit sweeter, and they added vanilla syrup for an extra $1, something the cashier didn't mention upfront. Iced 16 oz Ube Matcha ($8) + Oat Milk ($1): This one was a standout. The ube concentrate was flavorful, just the right amount of sweet, and paired surprisingly well with the matcha. The ube flavor really came through and didn’t get lost at all.
Iced 16 oz Pink Dream ($8): A blend of matcha, coconut water, oat milk, beet root powder, and strawberry syrup (no substitutions). It was enjoyable, but we preferred the Ube and Magick Matcha options—this one was less sweet, with more subtle flavors.
Sweet Tea Howdy Can ($5): Lightly carbonated with a very mild sweet tea flavor. Personally, I wouldn’t...
Read moreMagick Matcha recently opened up - I work nearby and was finally able to check it out before the closing time. It is a tiny closet in the street, but one can still easily spot the cute whimsical sign above it. You can order at the window to go. The employee was very friendly and accommodating of my communication needs in ordering as a deaf person. I was able to point at the menu, make gestures, and type on my phone. The ordering process was smooth. I ordered the iced Magical Matcha with ube syrup added. It was so delicious. Be sure to sto by this if you need a healthy pick-me-up during the day. I hope this place stays open for a good long time, and maybe even expand to some fun matcha desserts or snacks in the future. We have so many coffee spots nearby, but not that many unique matcha...
