I love Gatti's pizza-it's my favorite in Austin. But trying to order from this location is so frustrating and maddening. For many years the pizza here has been made very poorly. Sloppy, scant toppings or sauce, misshapen crust, etc., but still usually tastes good. But the delivery times have become unacceptable. Pizza does not come sooner than 2 hours. Today I called before placing an order to get true delivery times. I was told they were slow, so 45 min to an hour. I ordered 3 pizzas online at 6:10 pm. After 1 hour and 15 minutes I called and was told that the delivery person had just arrived there to deliver it to me. I suspect they hadn't even made the pizza yet. 45 min later I called again, waited on hold 15 min, got hung up on, called again, waited 6 minutes, was told the pizzas were there, cold, and never delivered. They would remake them and deliver ASAP. They can't give me a refund unless I go to the store and get cash, which I can't do because I have no car. Soon after, I received 2 out of my 3 pizzas. They were cold and hard. I called once again and the GM said he would remake the missing pizza and send it. I called back at 10:20 because I never got the 3rd pizza. Waited on hold forever. GM said they can't send it because Door Dash is closed. No good explanation why they never sent it. So 4.5 hours later, still trying to get my full order, I did not get it, but still got charged for it. Store closed now. GM promises he'll send it tomorrow. I don't believe it because they've lied about this before. And I wanted it 4 hours ago, not tomorrow. I can't fathom how it's possible to mess up this bad.
Several months ago I called because they forgot my ranch dressing (for the second time). The guy on the phone said he would give me a free meal next time I ordered. Surprisingly generous. It would be under my phone number and he promised it would be there. Next time I ordered I was told that it was a new policy not to give anything free anymore, and they did not honor what I had been told. They said a manager would call me, but no one did. This same thing had happened a few times before.
This place sucks so bad. I really wish I had a different location that would deliver to me, but I'm stuck with this one. They don't deserve...
Read moreGeneral Manager Joe at Mr. Gattis on William Cannon was unwilling to help get our pizzas delivered after his delivery person first time dropped the pizza leaving a mess at our front door and second time was a no show. He said the deliveries were made through door dash and he would not send it out again and risk losing more product. He said I could pick up the order, I explained we have Covid and are in quarantine. And he said that was my only option if I wanted the pizza. I told him he would be risking losing a customer and he said he loses customers all the time. I also said I was disappointed with his customer service and the fact that he is willing to put coworkers and customers at risk. He said I was a disappointment. He I told him I was going to complain and he said that's fine and the call was recorded. I noted the time at 7:25 pm and he was rude again the he said it was now 7:27p.m. I then informed that a 3rd party delivery is still his responsibility not mine. He didn't care to help and said I had two choices, a refund or pick up the pizzas. I called door dash to complain that the drivers failed us twice. They informed me that they had refunded gattis for the first mess up and will pay them for this mess up as well, Plus they will pay to have our pizzas remade and delivered asap. They contacted the store and the Manager Joe refused to replace the order even though Door Dash was paying for it. We order Mr. Gattis often and now we may never order it again. Never I have ever experienced a more rude and inconsiderate Manager in my life and to make it worse my family has very limited options since running to the store is not an option since we are under quarantine. The first manager I spoke with after the first mishap was great, she was quick to reassure me it was a quick fix. Unfortunately this Joe Manager is over her and had a final say after the no show. He made it personal and was more determine not to fix it, claiming it was loss product even though Door dash had paid for the failed deliveries. Door Dash even explained it to him and asked him several times to remake the order and they would cover the cost of the pizzas He still refused. The guy took around 10 mins to come and ask what I wanted, he was very nice btw.After paying I noticed 8 pans of pizza that were empty and some only had the max of 3 slices per pan . I then proceeded to look for a seat only to find the floors extremely dirty and almost every table with crumbs and used plates from previous customers.I went to the salad bar and their was almost no lettuce in the pan and there was dressing everywhere and no crutons only crumbs. I looked for a fork and their was no fork to be found, I had to ask at the front for a fork.I went to get a straw and napkin and it was a mess , no straws at all either only like 3 . Napkins everywhere.A group of friends was sitting infront of me around the age of 20 to the notice that one of them worked at the place and was the employee who had to clean the tables but instead was sitting with her friends with almost all of her tables dirty and full of used dirty plates .I went back to get more food to only see no pizza in NONE of the pans.So many people were waiting and waiting as well for the pizza.The pizza then came after 20mins to then only find out their was no plates to be used.We then had to wait for plates to be clean. The management truly sucks in this place I do not recommend to dine in here.Place was very dirty and had trash in the floor everywhere.
