This HEB it has so much wrong with it for what you would expect of a leading grocery name that I can't give it a 2. This location has terrible entry/exit issues and the parking lot is packed, cramped, and chock-full of speed humps. The produce is okay quality but in my opinion limited selection. Granted, I used to go to an AMAZING produce-style grocery store in the Chicago burbs, but this isn't such a major city. I used to be able to get bok choy and chayote in the same place as iceberg lettuce and celery...you get my point. People say this place is ghetto but I don't know what that means. Just limited selection really. Staff are friendly but lines can be long at times. PLEASE TRAIN STAFF TO BAG HEAVY THINGS AT BOTTOM OF BAG AND TO SPREAD WEIGHT ACROSS BAGS. I ASK THEM TO SPLIT WEIGHT AND THEY NEVER DO!! ONLY A TEEN WHO NEVER CARRIES GROCERIES WOULD PUT ALL CANS AND MELONS IN ONE BAG. As others have stated, if I can go to a different HEB I do. It just is close to where I live. The deli section is limited also and has no range in prices. The bread section is limited, no cheaper healthy options. Give me more whole wheat or whole rye...real bread please. I. As you can tell, I take my grocery stores seriously.
Update: Today I finally stopped a bagger from putting all my cans in one bag and asked them clearly and loudly to split the weight of items across bags. This visibly threw them in a tizzy as they started to re-bag. At the end everything was in except a big thing of peanut butter. "Dont even put it in there!", i said. Forget it. Last thing i need is pb smashing everything. As i walked out to leave i decided a manager needs to hear this issue that employees cannot bag here. Ive kept this to myself for a year.
So they call a manager n guess who it was???? The same bagger guy i had stopped n had to ask to spread the weight! As i described this consistent issue to him, he had his head down and was searching for his beeping phone. Literally one word he said to me : "ok"...and...that is all...
So there u have it folks, the manager himself cannot bag corrrectly and i asked him to please train his staff! Wow. Not much hope here and the way he reacted reminded me of a 2 year old...yet i keep coming here bc its cheap n close. Ill be bagging food myself from now on. Maybe theyll catch on if i physically show them...
Read moreI just want to share now this happened 2-4 years ago at this HEB. My son had a prescription and it was ready so I left and went to pick it up. Upon my return home I discovered they gave us the wrong dosage, so happy I did not give it to my son. , so I called H-E-B pharmacy and I let them know everything that happened. I've got 35 mg and I need 30 mg. I asked if my son's doctor had sent an incorrect prescription which the pharmacist then let me know no the prescription was correct they apologized and then they asked me to bring them the prescription which I followed through with, and I gave them the prescription and I went out and went home. Now this prescription left William cannon and drove with me 35 minutes away, 20-45 minutes at home, 35 minutes back to HEB. Who is to say that I did not take out those meds from the capsules and replace with something else? Does HEB know if I did this? Nope they don't, did they give this medication to someone else? No clue. I should have thought about this years ago and followed the proper process. I can only hope know that this was not a common practice and I Hope the pharmacist did not kill anyone. The reason I am writing this review several years later is because an investigation needs to happen immediately at H-E-B because I just found out that them asking me for the medication and me return returning The medication was not the proper process. so I would like Heb to please investigate and figure out what happened to these pills. Please coach your team members about proper protocol. Here is the information directly from the Texas State Board of Pharmacy. "As a practical matter, NO. Once a prescription has left the pharmacy, the pharmacist cannot be sure that the product is still safe. Therefore, in the interest of public safety, state law prohibits the pharmacist from accepting the return of a prescription drug, in whole or in part, and reusing the drug to fill another prescription. Think of the situation this way: Would you want the medication that you purchase from the pharmacy to be medication that someone else had returned?" So since Texas prohibits this, what is going to happen to the pharmacist who...
Read more4 of 5 Stars... This location–William Cannon at N. Bound IH-35 Frontage Road–is not only the busiest & most crowded HEB I've ever been but visually the entire layout seemed, well, "Out of Place!"
Things "felt" disorganized; I observed several of the younger Associates each who appeared uptight or stressed- unmistakably so. Those I can understand because after 30 minutes or so, I left feeling "Uptight & Stressed" to where I had to sit away from the store front & away from a full, busy parking lot for deep breathing, relaxation time in a quiet zone where I didn't have to hear a single "Excuse Me" or be bumped into again.
I suppose Corporate Administrative Professionals will applaud the business... So too I may but what of all the Jr. Management, particularly the much younger Associates having an entire shift "Face-Face" problem solving what may come by way of "Customers Overrunning the Location with 'emotional stuff' having nada to do with HEB or anything else in the present. It's their past, recent or longer.
It's heartbreaking to see a teen being dressed down for an event he'd nothing to do with, wasn't there & knew nothing of it Excepting he was paying for it with his under experienced emotional capacities.
This location is likely not nearly as busy as others in larger, denser metropolitan areas but I must state it was enough to Butt (PUN INTENDED) me down for nearly an hour to calm my nerves.
I'll not ever enter any enclosed area again if I even sense the sort crowded, anxiety riddled environment as yesterday late afternoon about 16:45 or 17:15.
