My family and I have been coming here for years, and while the pan dulce has always been okay, I gotta say that lately the staff who pack your bread, the ones who work the register, and even some of the bakers have just the worst attitude.
Every time we pay a visit, the ladies at the front are always so negative, un-expressive, and downright cold. Every. Time. They're always snarky, unfriendly, and you just feel very unwelcome. It gives the impression that they don't like being there, even amongst each other. I don't like how the workers there act towards us as customers, it's almost like they don't like being there. Of course I don't expect full-on fake conversations about how my day is and everything, but they don't even say hello! They just pack your bread, stuff it in the paper bag, and give you your total. Again, this isn't a once-in-a-while thing. I even asked my mom, who's a frequent customer, if she noticed the poor attitude from the female workers (or I guess all the workers in general) and she agrees that no one there is ever friendly. I understand it's tough sometimes to keep a positive attitude, especially post-covid; in fact I worked in customer service many years myself, both in retail and in a coffee shop before and during the pandemic. However, when this kind of negativity is prominent for everyone for the longest time, it REALLY reflects how little management cares about the customer service of their employees.
I've been coming here for so long, and just to see the girls up front be so unwelcoming and so unfriendly is just very disappointing. The employees really gotta get it together and fix their attitude and their faces, because what kind of costumer service is this? I understand this is like the only well-known panaderia in South Austin, but maybe the slightly above average pan dulce isn't worth...
Read moreGrab a tray and tongs! Lol I learned this!! plus no one really speaks English here so I’m letting you know grab a tray get some tongs and load it up. Beware this bakery is addicting. Your pastries will stay fresh longer than your local grocery store. I don’t know what they put in it but they’re so soft and just take them home and put them in a zippy zip bag and they will stay fresh. Unlike other stores they will not get dry. They stay soft for a good amount of time, try everything here you will not be disappointed. It’s pretty fun getting my own pastries using a tray and tongs. Cool experience. It gets pretty crowded in here. Be patient....
