First time here, & a new transplant to Austin... LOVED the musicians here (@thebarflys), drinks spot on, & the ambiance was amazing. The only thing bad I would say, which accounts for the 1star rating, was from one of the bartenders... "Black Tequila Lives Matter".... HUH?! I was under the impression that Austin was all inclusive and open. Being multiracial and socially aware didn't find the comment funny. One spot on Rainey Street that I'll never visit again. It's this exact mindset that supports the continuation of racism and bigotry. I'll take my black life and green influence elsewhere where it's welcomed and celebrated without remorse. Trying to let people know the experience that my brother went through at this place and the administration keeps on blocking me. This just demonstrate how far they go in order to avoid people from telling the kind of service they provide. Austin is such a cool and unique city for staff like this to ruin that kind of environment!

Read moreThe latest addition to the Rainey Street bar scene, Parlor Room is squeezed between The Blackheart and L'Estelle House. It has the same general layout of every other bar on Rainey with both indoor and outdoor bars and patio seating around its perimeter. They offer the usual selection of local beers on tap and a cocktail menu. Draft beers are in the $5-6 range (Austin Eastciders Original cider is $5.50).
