Bodily Fluids, No Towels, Followed by Security — NEVER Again I don’t even know where to start. This hotel was filthy, hostile, and horribly managed. • Our room had bodily fluids smeared on the furniture (yes, I have pictures) • Toilet had used tissues and pee still inside • No bath towels provided — just two small floor rags • Tub had mold, hair, and smelled like mildew • Valet charged $60 a night and we still waited over an hour for a luggage cart with no help from staff • Then I was followed around by a security guard like I was stealing something — while carrying my kids and luggage • To top it off? They tried to charge me for water I didn’t drink This was degrading, humiliating, and flat-out unsanitary. I have pictures of everything and zero response from corporate. This isn’t just a “bad stay.” It’s a public health risk and an example of systemic disrespect. DO NOT STAY HERE. If you’re reading this — don’t gamble on your safety or dignity. If you’re a mom traveling with your kids, do yourself a favor and pick literally anywhere else. I’d rather camp outside than deal with this place again.

Stayed here for one night on 6/14 to celebrate a friends birthday and was a little apprehensive because I had never stayed at a Hyatt hotel, but I must say I was pleasantly surprised. Upon arrival, we were greeted by their great valet staff, Dallas and Dylan, who advised us that overnight parking was $57 but that we could pay to park on the street, which we did for about $30, but they still kept our keys and made sure our vehicle was safe. The room was nice and spacious, and the bathroom was clean with nice water pressure. The dry off towels on the high shelf INSIDE the shower was a nice touch, too. The only con was that the AC was loud in the room. Breakfast was impressive—chicken and pork sausage, eggs, pancakes, fruit, cereal, juice, coffee, and more. The hotel is walkable to tons of restaurants and just 3 blocks from the lively 6th Street. Overall, it was a great stay. Hyatt just made it to my hotel roster—I’ll definitely be back.

Room (hard product): I stayed in a double queen room, which was clean, spacious, and well-laid out. The beds were comfy but the pillows were flimsy and lost their shape quickly. The sofa-bed cushions were caving-in. Service (soft product): Margot was extremely friendly at check-in and helped place us in an upper level room. Amenities: breakfast buffet is fantastic with plenty of hot items (eggs, potatoes, sausage / ham / bacon, French toast / pancake), fresh fruit, breads, and juice and coffee. The indoor pool is a nice touch but on the smaller end. The fitness center is well maintained. Location: conveniently downtown and felt pretty safe. We were on the outer side rooms and could still hear the noise from 6th street late at night.

I am in love with this hotel! I stayed here for a convention from Aug 15-19th and everything was fantastic. My room was spacious and even the views of the surrounding buildings were beautiful. The breakfast was generous and the coffee top tier. The staff was also amazing! The evening I checked it, the valet service was kind enough to take my bags to my room for me while I figured out parking.

The night manager even tried to help me find different disabled parking so I wouldn't get towed. We couldn't find anything that would assuage our worries but the fact that he tried to help and then checked on me the next day was so sweet.

My only small complaint was the morning I checked out, I asked for help with my bags because I have a disability and carrying heavy things isn't something I can do very well. The female manager was a bit dismissive and offered me a luggage cart (this doesn't alleviate all of the heavy lifting) and said maybe valet could help but no one did. The luggage cart in question was janky and I was clearly having a hard time with it when I came through the lobby but no one offered to help.

Luckily, one of the sweet guys at the valet helped me load my car. Overall, I love this place and would highly recommend it! JW Marriot has nothing...

Great Downtown Stay with Exceptional Service I recently had a fantastic stay at the Hyatt Place Downtown Austin and wanted to specifically call out the outstanding service I received from the front desk staff. From the moment I arrived, Hallim greeted me with a warm smile and efficiently handled my check-in. He was incredibly helpful in answering my questions about the hotel amenities and offered some great recommendations for nearby restaurants. Throughout my stay, whenever I passed by the front desk, Hallim always offered a friendly greeting and made me feel welcome.

Beyond the exceptional friendliness of Hallim, the hotel itself is in a prime location, within easy walking distance of many downtown attractions and the vibrant 6th Street. The rooms were clean, spacious, and well-appointed. The complimentary breakfast offered a good variety of options to start the day.

Overall, my experience at the Hyatt Place Downtown Austin was excellent, and the exceptional service provided by Hallim truly stood out. His genuine friendliness and willingness to assist made my stay even more enjoyable. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Austin and look forward to staying here again...

If not for Paul Green at the valet service, I’d leave 2 stars. The customer service that Paul and the lovely front desk staff provided are causing me to give this a rating it does not deserve.

I don’t know why a 3 star is trying to provide valet and bell hop service. It’s awkward and unnecessary. I feel bad for the Valets. I feel bad for the guests. Their tiny driveway is a mad house.

I watched these poor valet kids swarm these guests all weekend, and none of them wanted anything to do with it. Truly a bizarre spectacle.

This hotel is $100 a night. Using college kids to try to extort an extra $60 a night for parking plus tip is INSANE. There is no mention of a parking fee on their website

This hotel is trying to compete with its 4 star neighbors but it needs to just be what it is: a cheap place for people who are here for work.

Do yourself a favor, if you want a vacation, go to JW marriot or The Line. If you want a cheap clean place to stay while on business, go to La Quinta.

As an Austenite of 55 years, I can’t wait to see this place go. I guess they are just waiting for the convention center to completely die before they shut...
