I purchased my first Schlotsky at the original hole- in-the-wall store on South Congress (next to the Continental Club) in 1972, and I bought the last one I will ever order at the Balcones Woods store about 30 minutes ago. A hard feat to achieve, but the staff cleared the bar with room to spare. My 12 year old daughter orders smoked turkey with melted cheese on a large Schlotsky bun, meat and cheese only. We are old hands at this order, and we know how to get the order across explicitly - never had a problem before today. We drove away with a turkey sandwich, no cheese, piled high with lettuce, tomato and mayo. We turned around, drove into the drive-through, and told the attendant that we apparently received the wrong order. To make a short story even shorter, he straight up called me a liar and said I had not been specific about what I wanted, so he gave me a turkey sandwich as it comes. I waited silently for quite a while, then said “Really?” He repeated himself nearly word for word, and I told him to screw off. I drove away with a sorry and soggy sandwich, plus a very dysphoric daughter. Nice work guys. Without exception, every fast food restaurant that has bungled my order has apologized and given us the corrected item. Schlotsky’s...
Read moreI have been eating at Schlotskys for about 20 years. I have eaten at many of them. It is typically consistent---I get the same original sandwich every time, but this location doesn't make it right and I will never go to this one EVER!! The bread is undercooked and doughy, and I can't explain it but the sandwich is just not right here. I have gone back to confirm my theory, and it is true, even my mom came in from California (Native Austinite) and she says it sucked and it was not worth having another in the future. My sentiments exactly. I will go an extra 5 miles to get a PROPER sandwich from Schlotsky's. but I will never go here again. Why is it that 15 other stores get it right but this one does not??? C'mon Austin---tell me I'm right. Do you find that the sandwich here sucks compared to other locations? Please post a review so the management will GET IT and maybe I can again one day go the the Schlotsky's just 2 minutes from my house, instead of having to trek to Anderson Lane. I'll tell you---it is the BREAD that is NOT RIGHT HERE. Sometimes it is moist and sticky, and clearly not cooked or baked right...
Read moreI had misplaced my receipt & the first manager on duty asked me to come in with the receipt cause they couldn’t find it in the system & said they would replace my meal when I arrive, as soon as I arrived I asked for the manager & It was a new manger on shift (Areline) at first she was professional & respectful but because my receipt was a day old she then stated she couldn’t replace my order after I was assured they were and I drove from south Austin. She then proceeded to call someone on the phone after she walks off rudely yanks my receipt & then 10 minutes after the phone call she can now replace my order. I am upset because at what point do these managers/employees have accountability taken towards them for being rude & not hearing the customer out. The company has to do better with hiring managers that stay professional at all times & always remember the customer is right. I will not be returning to this location if I’m ever in...
