Only good thing here is the drinks. Don’t order the beef fajita. (It’s not real fajita) Let’s start at the chips and salsa. The salsa itself was pretty liquidy and flat, not much flavor here. Served in a plastic single-use container. The chips were very thick and didn’t have that fresh corn chip flavor you want also the chips had what i would describe as ‘Dorito cheese dust’ all over them. This dorito cheese flavor didn’t quite mix well with the salsa- i wish we would have been told about the chips being this way because it’s a totally different chips and salsa experience that seems more suitable for a kids meal.. Now for the real food. I was recommended the Pirata described as “grilled beef fajita” on the menu but what i received was 100% NOT beef fajita at all. It was a low quality “beef chuck” that had been pressure cooked to make it more tender. This beef was so chewy it took me half an hour to chew through it. This beef belongs in a stew or, not a beef fajita taco.. Has anyone else experienced this here? I know exactly how beef fajita meat should taste and this was NOT beef fajita. Too bad. If i wasn’t starving and 20 minutes from home i wouldn’t have eaten it. The service from our bartender was chill and relaxed which I enjoyed. Refills and 1 quality check was offered. Now for the staff. There were 2 employees (one was a manager) that took a bar seat right next to us and gossiped about other employees the whole time we were there. (Management styles, communication etc) Not to mention the place was mostly empty- i guess we were lucky enough to have front row seats! The check-out experience was a bust. The bartender hands you this greasy payment terminal (gross) which you have to run your card and tip all at once in front of the bartender. A little awkward. When i selected a print receipt i never got one. Since i expense my meals i waited 10 minutes until i had to flag him down to request a receipt. (I thought he had to reload the paper and I’m not a demanding patron at all!) Like i always say, “If tips are requested, then service level will be measured.” Overall, for the price, quality and experience i would say 5.5/10. There’s way too many taco spots to settle here. Wont be back!

Mediocre, overpriced food with VERY poor service. I've been going to Taco Flats (previously a delicious Zocalo) about twice a week for years since it is by my house and between the dog park and my house. It is purely for convenience because the food frequently tastes like reheated left overs and is way over priced. That said, Taco Flats is between my house and our local dog park so it is very convenient. Today I did my usual, called in my order from the dog park, when I rcv'd a text it was ready, we went over and I tethered my TRAINED, LICENSED SERVICE DOG in a shady spot by the windows while I ran it in get my food. Outside seating is for 50+ and there were FOUR people sitting outside nowhere near my dog. I was approached my MADISON the waitress who is also an expert in dog care who explained to me how unsafe it was to tether my dog in the shady spot I have done dozens to times previously. I pointed out that I had a to go order that was ready and that there were two other dogs, larger than mine tethered in EXACTLY the same manner outside. She then told me for safety she would need to check me out outside because I could not get takeout with my TRAINED, LICENSED SERVICE DOG outside. I've paid the ridiculously over priced fare here for years and suffered through the, at times, inedible food but this was just so unnecessary. Why treat customers in the condescending manner? So rude and the straw that broke the camels back - I will not return.

Pleasantly surprised, given the reviews. Came on a Sunday for breakfast. They had a brunch menu with breakfast tacos that weren't in their main menu, so not sure they are available every day. They are pricy ($6 or $6.50),but they are big. You might do one as a meal perhaps. I'd actually prefer less filling and a lower cost, so that two made sense. San Chorizo was good. The grilled jalapeño in it wasn't necessary. Really bad texture for the rest of the taco, so I took it out. Good otherwise though. The Dirty South was better. Pretty huge taco, if anything too much black bean. Could taste some bacon though. I could see doing this is as a meal and being OK with it. Flour tortillas were good. Not too thick. Cooked properly. The place seems more a bar than anything, but it's not bad. Expensive because where it is. Not on my best list, but would come back.

We walked in at 9:24 (they close at 10) and got the most unwelcoming greeting from the female bartender on Aug 28. They said they couldn’t make drinks anymore and were preparing to close. As people who have worked in the service industry, we said we get it and will order and be quick. The bartender, while glaring at us, rolled her eyes at us as we were sitting down. When greeted by our server, we were told we could order a round of drinks after all, guess bartender changed her mind. We ordered our food the moment the server brought our drinks. Server said I’m sorry, we’ve just had no one in here in the last hour so we are ready to close. While eating, the server told us they’d already done last call and quickly walked away before we could respond. We left around 10:08; there were still 4 people at the bar. Neither the server or bartender said goodbye, goodnight or thanks for coming in. They didn’t want us there, and we got the message. I’ll spare all the other details, but suffice to say we’ve never felt more unwelcome in a restaurant before. It’s a shame since the food and...
