Ok….. so let me just say I’m pretty disappointed… I really wanted to like this place. The food was actually pretty decent… I had the dirty fries, which were good, but just a tad bit salty…. Nothing I would normally leave a negative review for…. I also had the deviled eggs and they were DELICIOUS!! I could eat a dozen by myself probably, and I don’t normally like other peoples deviled eggs that much!! The service was also decent, I could tell my server got slammed twice (once from an early lunch rush, and then the second when I came in)… but he was still pleasant, it took him no time at all to catch up, and I had everything I needed… But then……. I made the mistake of going to the bathroom before I left…… because of this mistake, I’ll probably never return to this restaurant again… lemme tell you why….. That bathroom was DISGUSTING!!!! It looked like it hadn’t been cleaned throughly in WEEKS… the grime on the floor was scary… I had to hover over the toilet because it didn’t even look safe to sit on….. I’ve been to cleaner barroom bathrooms on 6th street than that!!! I’m not talkin like it was dinner rush dirty, and nobody had had time to check on it in a while.. that is understandable…. I’m talking this was some nasty grimey grossness that hadn’t been touched in forever…… having a bathroom that dirty reflects so badly on a restaurant because, If your bathroom is that dirty, imagine what the kitchen looks like 🤢 often it’s the same staff that cleans the kitchen is the same that cleans the bathrooms….That thought alone immediately made my pretty good meal, not so good and I felt sick to my stomach… Now, because I’m nice, I only posted pics of food… not...
Read moreThe chicken was delicious. I got the mo hot as I am not a fan of spicy but it was good. Had just the right amount of heat to not be overbearing. The chicken was hot and flavorful and the 2 piece was just enough as the pieces were huge. The Mac and cheese was some of the best from a fast food place however the fries were terrible and not worth the extra charge as a side. Also the pecan toffee pie was amazing. Would like to try other menu items. However, the staff is the reason for a low rating. I went on a Sunday afternoon. It was not busy and plenty of seating. The manager offered me a table next to a big and loud table. I asked for the table right next to it and he proceeded to say no because he feels like there may be a rush later. I don’t feel comfortable sitting next to a large table without social distancing and to have a little more quietness. He still did not want to but I just said I won’t be here long and sat where I wanted anyhow. About two more people came in the whole time I was there so I felt he was just being rude. Also, the waitress was also rude. There were no menus and the small placard saying scan here for a QR code menu was hidden deep in a basket of napkins and straws. She seemed bothered the whole time. Also when your eating spicy food, check on your customers drinks . I had to waive her over as she was just standing in the bar and never checked on me after I got my food . Also the other tables around me were dirty, you would think if they expected a big rush they would make more of an...
Read moreI'm very hard to please when it comes to fried chicken. T22 passes all my tests with flying colors. It's a nice enough sit down joint with table service and a nice big patio out front. The chicken is cooked perfectly, with the perfect crunchy crust and juicy interior. I tried the "darn hot" which is the third of 4 levels of heat. The spicy oil glaze on the chicken was delicious and pleasantly spicy (chiliheads will surely want to go for the hottest one) with a mild sweetness. Although of course we're talking about fried chicken that has taken a second dip in spicy oil, it was less greasy than I expected. I was expecting good chicken, but I was surprised by the quality of the sides. The Mac and cheese is among the best in town, and I'm including a lot of much more expensive restaurants in that comparison. The collards were swimming in pot liquor, and were perfectly seasoned. Their bread and butter pickles were delicious as well. A half a chicken runs 12.50 with sides. This is the best chicken bargain in town. Also, for timid folks, their chicken tenders are equally excellent and avaible without any of the "hot oil." The drinks here are cheap as well, and I can't really find anything to fault here other than my arteries for not allowing me to eat here except as a rare treat. Highly recommended, even over places like Lucy's (which has a much more varied menu but inferior chicken) or JT Youngbloods (tasty chicken and sides but just not quite as...
