Cheddar's Scratch Kitchen — Restaurant in Avon

Group of 9, hostess at the entrance advised that it’ll be a 30 to 35 minutes wait time. She took my phone number and said she would call once a table was ready. Never received a call and it was good that one of my family members went back in to check on the wait times; she was advised that a table was ready. We had to wait another 10 after being told the table was ready. Finally the server came to take us to our table. We could not sit because the floor under our table had not been swept. We ask two young men if they could clean the area, both were very disengage and had very passive attitudes. Once finished there was so much trash and food under the table that it literally filled the dust pan. The other young man was asked to re-wipe the table, he did an awful job that my aunt passed around sanitizer wipes to wipe the table and the chairs. The waiter came not very friendly, but he took our drink order and had them back to us in 15 mins. Another 30 mins passed no waiter. We caught another waitress attention and she asked another waiter about our waiter. Another 20 minutes passed, the manager and a new waitress came out and he apologized and said our waiter had slipped and dropped an entire stack of glasses, never heard any glass drops.. but we gave our orders, mind you a couple of two had been sitting waiting 50 mins for their check, so I told the waitress “ you may want to check on that couple” and advised how long they had been waiting. We finally received our food it was pretty good other than 1 steak being over cooked. The manager came back to check and see how the food was, at that time we asked if we could get our checks. When he came back he advised that all our drinks were free because the first waiter Never put our order in. This particular waiter pretty much stopped serving our party, the couple of two and a party of 5 next to us. So as we’re boxing our food a couple of two sat down and guess who was their waiter? Yes, our first waiter. He never apologized to our group and you could tell he was irritated, like he didn’t want to be there. He really had an arrogant attitude. Oh and it wasn’t just our area that was trashy, the entire row that we were on-was trashy.. and I had to send back my silverware because it looked as though it had dried egg on it. This dining experience was a complete disaster, largely due to our server Bryson, who clearly doesn't care about his job. He was unenthusiastic and inattentive, forcing us to order appetizers via tablet after waiting for 10 minutes to be welcomed. To make matters more questionable, he even asked my 25-year-old boyfriend how old he was instead of simply carding him when he was already reaching for his wallet.

The spinach dip was lackluster, lukewarm, and watery- tasting like it was made with frozen spinach. Despite requesting sour cream on the side via the tablet, it was dolloped on top.

Chips and queso were mediocre, and our food took over 45 minutes to arrive after we were seated at 8:43 PM. It was supposed to be hot but neither tasted fresh nor warm--makes no sense.

The ribeye was the only semi-decent part of the meal; seasoned well but didn't look appetizing and tasted rubbery- we brought the leftover steak home for our dog. Everything else was so disappointing. The cheesy broccoli casserole was passable, the Caesar salad was forgettable, and the rest of the food was underwhelming: the ribs were average, and the chicken was soggy instead of crispy. To top it off, the restaurant was dirty.

Overall, this was the worst dining experience we've ever had. We had to start a note with the running list of complaints from the evening to add into this Yelp Review. Avoid this place at all costs.

I tried Cheddar's Scratch Kitchen for the first time at the Greenwood location with a friend and I ordered the exact same meal. I was so happy with my experience that I left a 5-star review! I figured this CSK was closer to home so I wanted my boyfriend to try it, I was so excited in recommending that we go here for dinner. The entire dinner I kept apologizing for bringing us here. Let me preference my statement first by saying this was my first time trying Cheddar's and our waitress, Lashauna was exceptional. That's, however, where my good experience with this place ends...

We arrived around 8:30 Saturday evening and took a seat at a booth in the bar area. Our waitress took our order of 2 alcoholic beverages and onion rings to start. Our waitress was clearly behind as it seemed as though she was the only person waiting on around 9 different tables. After about 25 minutes, we started inquiring about our appetizer and drinks. We looked towards the bar (covered by two bar tenders) and they are standing talking with one another. You can hear the printer machine going off amongst the chatter and they could care less. There was even a point where a patron from the dining room came in asking for his drinks! Another 15 minutes go by and our appetizer arrives and our visibly upset waiter apologized for the wait and walked to the bar. We could hear them arguing about the drinks that still have not been made. Around 9:15, our drinks came to the table followed by our food who was brought out and walked to 3 or 4 tables until I noticed and yelled "it's ours" the waiter (different person) seemed annoyed that she had to deliver someone else's food. And speaking of food -- cold and not very flavorful! We put on a brave face and took a few bites, but it was clear that we weren't happy. Another 15 minutes passed and there is now probably 10 servers, the two bar tenders and, who I believe was the manager since he had a tie on stood at the bar and argued over tables waiting and who was at fault. Not very professional of the manager to handle the issue in that manner.

Don't think I will be visiting this place again..Most certainly not the...
