My Galaxy A50 phone developed a deep crack in the screen (it was in my back pocket and I believe it cracked after I had bent over several times) and all I had was a black screen with intermittent flashes of light. I needed my phone fixed immediately as I was leaving to go out of town the next day. I called Fix My Cell in Avon at 2:15 PM and was told to bring it in and he could fix it same day. I had my phone back and working in less than 2 hours ($126). I was prepared to go online and leave a very positive review for their quick turnaround. The next morning immediately after sending a text (at which time the screen was fine), I started to sit down with the phone in my back pocket and caught myself and reached back to pull it out of my pocket but it was too late; there were multiple cracks in the screen, though the phone still functioned. I called Fix My Cell to let them know and was essentially told too bad. I at least expected an offer to replace at a discount but was told that it would cost another $126. I was told this has never happened before but after reading the reviews I see that is not the case. I can only assume that a brand new screen lasting approximately 16 hours and that was never dropped can only be due to inferior replacement products. I was prepared to give a 5 star review due to the quick service I was provided but based on the quality of material and the response I received when I called to inquire about any recourse I may have, I can only leave a one-star at best. I did not expect a free replacement, but I know that replacement screens cost nowhere near $126. I would have gladly paid the replacement cost of a new screen + a minor labor charge for a 2nd repair but I am certainly not paying another $126 for an inferior product. I will look elsewhere for my...
Read morei took my macbook pro here to get a quote on how much it might be to get a repair and they said they will take it apart and diagnose it and tell me what needed replaced for $50 which is fair because it’s a more complicated computer to take apart than most. he then told me it would be $480 to repair it and i said that i would think about it and decide within a day i called him back and decided that i just wanted a second opinion on it and at first he did give me a lower offer of doing it for $400 because he apparently already ordered parts which i never told him to do and he got extremely butthurt about the entire ordeal because it’s “unusual” saying that he feels i am questioning his ability to do the repair correctly which wasn’t the case. i simply wanted a second opinion on it which i feel is my right seeing as it is my own computer and my money i am spending. he then told me he wouldn’t tell me what work needs done because “i didn’t pay him” which i very much did pay him to literally diagnose it and tell me what needs done.
Also i originally came here because my mother had brought her phone here a couple times and said it was a good deal and he does good work. all she had was broken screens but mine was a bit more complicated so.
regardless if he had simply told me what needs done and gave me my computer with no whining i would’ve taken it back to him but given this experience i wouldn’t return with...
Read moreCame for a simple cracked screen, left with a phone that did not turn on.
My father brought his phone in for a simple screen fix. Phone was in perfect working condition, he even unlocked his phone in front of the technician so that he could see the cracks in his screen better. Upon pickup, the employee asked my dad if he was sure that his phone was working when he dropped it off. HUH??? He had just called the store an hour or two prior (with that same phone) to check on pricing and same day availability. Not only did they damage his phone and take a while to offer him a refund for the screen repair (he still left with a broken screen), they also took limited accountability. They attempted to see what had happened but were unsuccessful. He had to go and buy a new phone which is an unexpected $1,400 out of pocket. I called the company afterwards and the employee laughed and stated, “I do not break phones” after asking about a warranty or waiver in case of damage during a repair. My question is, how did a PHONE REPAIR SHOP, let my dad leave the store with a non-functioning phone after a screen repair. We understand things happen, but there should have been more of an attempt to find a solution, especially at a phone repair store. I have contacted the company through their chat feature on their website and left my email, and I have yet to...
