I came here on its grand opening, and then once again today. Me and my friend tried a few of their items so I can talk about quite a bit, but I'll get to the items after I talk about the place itself.
First of all, as someone who watched rise and roll close, then this place open, they got their doors open quick. Despite that, the atmosphere already feels entirely different. It seems like theyre still clearing out the previous cafe's stuff, but again that doesnt stop the vibes from being totally different. The establishment is clean and smells fantastic. Not much to say there but its important to state! They have a punch card system also, after your 9th drink, you get a 10th free! Also they have wifi, if you want to work on projects while here. The music is also popular and calmer energy :)
The vibes are largely different because of the FANTASTIC customer service. When I went in on their grand opening, I got a drink that had a red hue. Im intolerant to red 40, and despite them being super busy they still dropped everything to check to make sure my drink was free from the dyes! Theyre open to giving recommendations (good ones at that), pleasant conversation, and the staff seem to connect well with each other, which is important to me.
Now onto the items we bought! Our first visit I bought a coconut hibiscus refresher, and my friend got a brown sugar chai. The hibiscus syrup (as I learned asking about red 40) is made in-house. The drink was fizzy, refreshing, and very flavorful. 9/10 (only because I wish there was more coconut flavor) The brown sugar chai was incredibly flavorful. I have a low tolerance for sweets and still enjoyed the drink when i took a sip from my friend. The chai is REAL spiced chai. My friend wont stop talking about it, and he is a chai LOVER. 10/10
The second time we went, we got a bit more. I got a the coco-stachio latte, my friend got the oh honey honey latte (both being limited edition fall drinks), I got a chicken empanada, and finally he got the triple chocolate muffin. The coco-stachio latte was absolutely delicious. Not too sweet, not too watery. This was our first time actually getting coffee here and let me tell you it is worth every penny. Fresh tasting and leaves a wonderful aftertaste in your mouth. Once again I wish I couldve tasted the coconut more, but its such a small gripe it doesnt take away from my rating 10/10 In the oh honey honey you can TASTE the honey and you can taste that its REAL and FRESH. It was too sweet for me, but my friend (whose normally a sipper) absolutely CHUGGED his drink. He got an extra pump of vanilla, but I dont even think it needed it. He was raving about it, and still is. 10/10 This was my first time trying an empanada, and it was DELICIOUS. They warm it up so its nice and hot for you when you eat it. Very flavorful, delicious even in the corners. My sweets-loving friend even wishes he had gotten one too! You can pay .50 for a saracha sauce to go with it, but unfortunately they were sold out of it when I went. oh! And the staff brought the pastry to my table on a little plate :) 10/10 The triple chocolate muffin was also served warm, so the chocolate chips were nice and melted. It wasnt our personal favorite, but the place has had so many hits, its not too much of a loss. 7/10 Oh and the prices are similar if not a little less than starbucks, so thats great!
Overall, a fantastic new cafe here in avon. I highly reccomend to anyone looking for a place to study or just grabbing coffee on your way to work. I am very pleased and I WILL be...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI was so excited to see that a new coffee shop was replacing rise and roll because the shop is very close by to my house, and it exceeded all of my expectations!
First, The food and drinks were AMAZING. I went in there two separate times with a friend, first time I got the brown sugar chai and he got a coconut hibiscus refresher, and the second time I got the oh, honey honey latte with a triple chocolate muffin and he got a cocoastachio with a chicken empanada, and I genuinely have no complaints about anything we ordered! The chai was spiced perfectly, the coconut hibiscus would be a perfect drink on a hot day, the honey latte is perfect for a sweet tooth, the muffin was perfectly chocolatey and warm, I had to stop myself from chugging my friends drink, and the chicken empanada was so flavorful!!! Overall, 5/5 for the food
Service wise, it was also amazing!! Everyone behind the counter was extremely friendly and super helpful when it came to ordering, and despite being pretty busy got our drinks out fast!! They answer any questions you have very thoughtfully, and just in general weāre very nice! Overall, 6/5 for service
As for the atmosphere, it felt very cozy and warm! They didnāt change most of the actual layout from rise and roll but I have no complaints there, as the people there really changed the environment for the better! It felt so much like a traditional coffee spot like in the movies, and I mean that with all the love in my heart! Overall, 5/5 for atmosphere
I really really recommend you try this place out, donāt bother reading the 1 star reviews, just go and experience the place for...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreReally nothing going on here sadly. The coffee was a let down. I wish I had just waited out the line at 7Brew instead. The sweets largely look like they're just out of a freezer then anything made fresh, which makes me wonder if the more unique offering are the same situation.
The staff was friendly and moving fast. But I was asked if I wanted an iced latte and got given a hot one. They also didn't give a cardboard cozy for a drink hot enough to cause 1st degree burns. No bag offered when carrying out.
Worst of all, they didn't change anything about the inside. It's all the same furniture as Rise and Roll, the walls are painted over and some really tiny photos and cheap posters are up. If the building wasn't at capacity, it'd probably feel really depressing to sit there and try and...
