I’ve been coming to Thai Orchid Garden for years and it seems like the prices have gone up and the quality of food has gone down. I don’t usually complain about prices or food but now that a single dish has gone from 13 dollars to 20 dollars and they can’t seem to get the order right I’m finally going to complain. I order Spicy fried rice every once or twice a month as a little treat of nostalgia for myself. Spicy fried rice was my favorite meal from my childhood and what I loved most was the spiciness of Thai fried rice. The highest spice level is 5 and I have been ordering between 4/5 for the past year it and doesn’t seem as though the kitchen cares to make the dish spicy at all. It got so bad to the point that when I started ordering online in the notes I would literally beg for them to make the dish spicy. I truthfully feel like I’m getting rice from another dish and they just throw peppers and tofu in it and call it a day. I received my order today of spicy fried rice and this is the blandest spicy fried rice I’ve ever had from ANY Thai restaurant and it was a level 4 spice that I ordered. Now like I previously stated I’ve been coming to this establishment and ordering take out for years so I know that they are more than capable of making spicy fried rice that’s why I’ve been coming to them for years but this past year has been a real disappointment and I’m thinking I may have to start looking for another place to make my spicy fried rice unfortunately 😭😭. I love the customer service the workers are amazing I just wish they could make the dishes spicier like...
Read moreWhile this is my 3rd time coming here, it's my 1st time having a meal to go.
I also wanted to see if they have Lunch Specials on the weekend. Unfortunately, they don't. :-(
Also, neither of the 2 previous hostesses/waitresses that I've dealt with before works there anymore. And today, the hostess/waitress was training a new girl, so everything was running a bit slow.
I ordered the Chicken Pad Thai. And, while I thought it pretty neat that they separate the main dish from the toppings of bean sprouts and peanuts with aluminum foil, one needs to be careful while traveling with it (much of the juice spilled over the foil, and out of the container, into the bag; I'm glad there weren't any holes in it).
While the Pad Thai was pretty good, I can't give it better than 3 Stars because:
They didn't give a wedge of Lime to squeeze on top (I've always gotten it at other Thai restaurants).
As you can see by the photo, the noodles clumped together.
And, the Chicken was a tad on the dry side (no, I don't believe it was because I over heated it in the microwave; I cover it with a damp paper towel, nuke 1 minute, steer, cover, and nuke for 1 more minute).
Overall, I do like the food here. So, I'll be back. Hopefully, my next review will be better.
And, on a side note: For the very 1st time, I had a Chang Thai Beer (purchased yesterday) for the very first time. It was pretty good. But, I like...
Read moreThis restaurant has lost a costumer. Ordered chicken fried rice, coconut soup and green curry and let me you....the chicken fried rice was absolutely disgusting. Had absolutely no taste to it, was so bland. The coconut soup had these mushrooms in it that tasted awful as if they hadn’t been washed and the green curry was way too sweet. We called Jaycee the host of the restaurant and she did kindly allow us to take the rice back today and get a new rice that had some spice and flavor but my husband just told me over text that the new rice he picked up still doesn’t have the quality it should. I also didn’t want to be rude to Jaycee but if I could have I would have returned all three meals as I could only eat half the soup and the green curry I am having right now is just going to go in the trash. We have been having the worst luck lately with finding good quality flavorful asian food around this area, even these mom and pop shops that we want to give our business to are not providing good quality food and it really is disappointing. So much so that I am going to start learning how to make homemade asian food myself. So...
