Chili's Grill & Bar — Restaurant in Bakersfield

We have always had decent experience with the food, I loved their burgers and chili, but the service was always not the best, but almost not bad enough to keep us from going. Although yesterday's was just the worst! We haven't eaten inside Chilis for two years, I was ready to finally go back. Our waiter was nice but barely present and I got an old timer burger with cheese. When I received the burger it had no cheese. Everyone at my table was almost done eating by the time anyone came by for me to mention my burger. And I couldn't believe it when he asked if I wanted him to bring me a slice of cheese....no they are supposed to be melted on the burger. I'm never the kind of person that demands much at restaurants. I worked in food I know people can be soooo difficult so I really hate being like that. But when he asked me that I was kinda shocked! But I still nicely said no please I would like it remade it's getting cold now. Well he took it back...brought it right back with a cold slice of cheese slapped on there. They didn't remake it or re heat it. But like I said, I don't like being demanding so I ate it anyways and it was so cold and tasted so whatever. My boyfriend was mad and kept telling me to say something but I didn't, everyone else was done eating anyways and I didn't want to wait even longer. I also had an empty glass and he never even came back until we were done so I didn't get a refill. And then...we ordered dessert, the molten chocolate cake to go, we loved it the last time we had it, the warm chocolate center was the best. But when we got home and started eating it, it was frozen solid! We couldn't even bite into the middle because if was rock hard. Now he never even wants to go back that just finished it for us. We got here around 9:30pm and were seated within 5 mins. We got a nice waitress and our drinks came out fast. My fiancé got the 3 for me combo. It came with a drink, soup and entree was a 6ox sirloin medium rare with steamed broccoli and loaded mashed potatoes (not pictured) My son got 3 for me with 6oz sirloin medium rare, fries and corn on the cob (not pictured) and I got the fajita trio. It came with sliced chicken, sliced steak and grilled shrimp, veggies, rice and black beans. Right away I noticed that my steak was fully cooked but I asked for it medium rare. The guy that brought it out was super understanding and took it back. My fiancé noticed his steak was well done also so the waitress brought him a new one as well. My son's steak was perfectly cooked. It's kinda a bummer that my family was done with their food way before I got mine but whatever. I didn't really like the rice that it came with but mixed with beans, it didn't taste that bad. The meat and shrimp were pretty delicious. The veggies were perfect. My fiancé didn't think his plate had much flavor. We both got the chicken enchilada soup that was freaking delicious they put tortilla strips on top and it was perfect. Yum yum. We got the chocolate chip cookie with ice cream for dessert. We got it to go and it was okay. The cookie didn't taste like it was warmed up so that sucked but whatever. We also got the chips and salsa because we had a reward. The chips are flavorful, light and crispy. The salsa is pretty good too. All in all I would say we had a good experience. Chilis always screws my order up then makes me feel bad when I call the store to tell them my orders wrong. I order the same thing everytime and they’ve screwed it up 4 times now. Last night was the last time I’ll ever spend money there. Management makes me feel bad because they screwed up and didn’t even offer to remake it. At least when they screwed up in the past they said come on back and they would fix it. An inconvenience? Sure, but they always fixed it. Not this time. Thank you Courtney at Gosford Village you lost a customer of over 15 years over being so petty about a $10 burger that had cheese on it that I didn’t want or order. I didn’t eat dinner last night even though I paid for it because you told me the order was correct and there was no mistake. Look at my past orders. I wish I had documentation of everytime this has happened. I’ve been told that the app changed it, I’ve been told their system must’ve glitched but I’ve never been told you didn’t order the burger the way you said you did. Sure Courtney. I’ve hated cheese my entire life and just tonight I decided to eat cheese on my burger. I selected no thanks when it said cheese. How would I know the button says no thanks? 🤔 Because I pressed it!
