Frosty queen express — Restaurant in Bakersfield

Quality of food: I got a pastrami sandwich, a fried burrito, mozzarella sticks, a strawberry milkshake and two Pepsi's. The pastrami sandwich was just okay in my opinion, but the cut the bread into do separate pieces so the meat was constantly falling out of the sandwich. The milkshake was good and had pretty good flavor, hand chunks of strawberry and it was huge for a small. The fries tasted overcooked, they were kinda old tasting and chewy. I assume the food was great because I showed up at about 8pm when they close at 10pm, you could just tell is wasn't very fresh.

Drive thru experience: The drive thru moved pretty fast, after ordering it took about 5 minutes to get our food. The whole place including the drive through look a little dirty, but for hole in the wall burger joints, that's kind of expected in this town.

Pricing: Food was actually pretty cheap, for everything we ordered, it was about $25 bucks out the door. Cannot complain in that regard.

Recommendations: I didn't really care for the pastrami so I cannot recommend it. The strawberry milkshake was good so I'd give that as my recommendation. Next time I try them, I'd like to give their burgers a chance considering they use Harris ranch beef. That's probably...

About the only thing going for this place is their food is pretty good and that it's close to my house. Other than that, the cashiers are always incredibly rude and either there is something wrong with their speaker system at the Drive-Thru or they're just that completely incompetent because every single time I come I either have to constantly repeat myself or they wind up getting my order wrong. Just went there tonight and I asked for an orange freeze and instead I received an orange soda. How 'soda' sounds anything remotely close to 'freeze' I don't know. This was after they already charged me that she handed it to me and I realized it was wrong. When I brought it to her attention she insisted on trying to get me to pay the difference for their mistake. She finally "compromised" and gave me a large instead of a medium like I wanted but I still had to pay the difference of a dollar, again for their mistake. Denise and the two other employees myself and my husband spoke too were incredibly unhelpful and rude. I have an allergy that was not accommodated and the employees become extremely defensive and confrontational when we called about the issue. Denise specifically cussed at my husband over the phone, argued about the order, and didn’t seem to have any competency whatsoever when the issue was being explained back to her. The only other time I’ve ordered here was online and also received an incorrect order. The fact that I was told the only way to get a refund was to drive all the way back with the food in hand is insane.
