Ike's Love & Sandwiches — Restaurant in Bakersfield

Dining at Ike's was an extremely enlightening experience. I ascended to the heavens when I tasted the menage a trois, it was similar to the day I got baptized. The rest of the menu is yet to be discovered, when I do, I will reach enlightenment. The dirty sauce is so scrumptious, it moistens the bread and compliments the crunch of the jalepenos and pickles. Oh let me tell you, those pickles are wonderous. Perfectly cut, perfect size. I don't know how they do it, it just sends me into another plane of existence. That's how wonderful this place is. Ike's is somewhere over the rainbow, it is what is beyond heaven's gates. Walking in this fine establishment was nice, sitting at a table with my homies, enjoying our delightful sandwiches. If you made it this far, you must be intrigued. Good. Because this place will have you HOOKED. The sauces, the many options of breads, meatless and meatful, the toppings, the cheeses, it is incredible. While it has a lot of vegetarian options, there are fewer meat options. The building of flavors seems more focused on their use of sauces. I had the Menage A Trois and was disappointed. Small meat portions and very sweet. I didn't feel it was a $10 sandwich. They place the cheese on the bottom of the sandwich. As a result, we found the ingredients sliding out of the sandwich. Afterwards, I had the thought we should have went to Jersey Mike's instead.

The menu is a bit confusing and apparently there are more sandwiches listed on signs near the restrooms. The store has 7 tables so seating is limited. However, we didn't have trouble finding a place to sit, which is unusual for a new restaurant opening in Bakersfield, where it is usually crowded after opening. Google Maps lists it where the old Basket Robbins used to be, but you find on the other side near Color Me Mine and Cold...

What a wonderful funky little sandwich shop. First thing first, the staff was incredible. They were warm and inviting and answered all our question. Plus very patient since it was our first time. The CSR was amazing with helping us through the menu. It was a bit overwhelming but really cool with lots of fun choices.

The dutch crunch rolls were amazing and the meat was fresh and amazing. They got the order correct and it was done in a timely manor. The Dirty sauce was amazing. It is a must try. We also ordered the Zucchini ring and fries. Both were fresh and the zucchini was insanely good! A must eat.
