Round Table Pizza — Restaurant in Bakersfield

I ordered my pizza at 3:45pm for pick up at 4:45pm. I got there at 4:53pm and my pizza wasn’t ready. 1 large Maui Zaui. No special customization. The place was completely empty and finally one of the workers asked if I needed help and I told them I had a pizza for pick up 4:45pm. The guy went to the back area and after some conversations came back and said it’ll be ready in 10 minutes. I said okay and sat down. Seconds later he came back and apologized and said the pizza should be ready soon and I guess his shift was over and left. Another female employee walked by and said they are making it right now and should be ready soon. Around 5:05 one of the workers comes up to the register and says my pizza is ready and it’s in a medium box. I asked if that was a large and he asked if I ordered a large and I said yes. Another employee came over and they had a conversation and the guy said mine should be ready in 12 minutes. at 5:15 the same employee said my pizza is ready and it was the same size and he asked if I was a different customer. Seriously? I gave him my name again and told him it’s already been 30 minutes and I ordered ahead and my pizza should’ve been ready at 4:45pm. Another guy came over and said they will make my pizza right now. It’s almost 5:30pm so I asked for a refund because it’s just taking too long and they couldn’t get my order right. Horrible service, there weren’t any customers in the building and they had 3 or 4 employees in the back just chit chatting. I could’ve went back there and made my own pizza. Here is the problem with this Round Table in southwest Bakersfield. We have attempted to order online for the several years we have lived here; the online ordering process never works. Apparently this Gosford location completely turns off its on-line ordering process until it's delivery drivers arrive for the day around 5 pm (as in the ordering process won't even take the order) but their website does not even work after that time - although the website allows you to go through the entire ordering process (putting in your name, the order, that you want delivery, etc.) and then provides the error message when providing your credit card number that the webpage will not connect. Have tried this multiple time in the past year and each time have had to call in the order; mentioning the problem to the phone person taking the order and getting no helpful response. So, wanting Round Table pizza (which we consider a very good pizza) but not being able to order online (we are frustated and finally done with having to call in after attempting to order online), we are done with Round Table pizza - a shame since we are trying to support this local business. We now order through Magoo's or Me'n'Ed's. Maybe some day the franchisee of this location will get the home office to repair the website so orders can be taken. Too bad. I attend a club meeting there monthly and, every time, there is an issue with our order. The ownership recently changed & with it the choice of beverages (very few alcoholic options & they replaced name-brand fountain drinks with generic), desserts (no more cookies), & the service went downhill. The last time I visited, their internet was down, so they could only accept cash. They were short-staffed, the line was out the door, & it took AN HOUR to receive the order!!! I had requested that they add chicken to the pizza - they charged for the chicken, but did not add it! We were in the middle of our club meeting so I didn't want to argue or be disruptive (the three birthday parties of screaming kids were already disruptive enough). Despite the order being wrong and taking AN HOUR, it did arrive hot and looked like they used fresh ingredients. On my way out, I did mention the discrepancy in the order & they offered to make us another, but by that time we were heading home & didn't want to wait another hour for a pizzza that may or may not be correct. Very disappointing. I want to support the place since they host our club meeting, but I'll be eating before I come from now on & recommending to the club that they find a different...
