Went by this evening for dinner with friends. Showed up at 6pm and were seated. We were shown a special by the lady who seated us and they began to chill a wine we brought. Our friends arrived about 6:15 and we chatted for about 5 mins when someone came to us and asked if we were told about the cover charge if we stayed passed 7:30. We told him no and he began to tell us if we stayed passed 7:30 we would be charged $20 per person because the band would be playing. We told them we were there for dinner not the band and didn't appreciate the fact we were going to be forced to eat fast and leave (especially with an average price per plate of $40). He told us he wanted to warn us. We left because 60min to review the menu, order, and eat or get charged $80 for our table did not appeal to us.

We expected it to be a bit slow because it was Valentine’s Day, but to be honest the place wasn’t really busy. When we were waiting to be seated, one group got up and made a huge commotion because they had been waiting for a long time and haden’t even gotten drinks yet. They told us good luck. To be honest, they probably got better food at a fast food place nearby, The servers were nice but still very slow. The salad and caprese were okay. But we paid $170 for a dinner that tasted worse than a tv dinner. We ordered our steak medium rare and it was like shoe leather. The mashed potatoes had no flavor and the vegetables tasted like cafeteria mixed veggies. It was nice they gave us our glass of $15 wine for free but it was the worst dinner we have had in years and years. At least we got...

This is an absolutely wonderful dining experience in NW Bakersfield. Unmatched for the the area. Please ask for the wine and cheese platter! And the lamb lollipops are brilliant.

Edit: This WAS a spot we would regularly go to while on Hagerman. I literally went around and would tip the whole crew a c-note when covid restrictions happened to help support the local community establishments. Our 6th year anniversary was reserved here for today. They had no acknowledgment of our reservation for tonight through their web page. Even the owner said tough luck when our rez was lost on their site. She said, "We don't have a site. So you're not right." Really?
