I don’t like pizza sauce, and I don’t like pizza crust. So I’m just obviously not a pizza person, it’s not the first thing I crave or go towards. My wife was really craving a cheese pizza and Goomba’s in the mall was the closest thing to us. I ordered us a Large cheese pizza. I opened the box and immediately knew it was going to be good, I took a bite and FELL.IN.LOVE. The only pizza I’ve ever liked was a pizza place in Pennsylvania but this for sure tops it. It was thin crust, the perfect amount of pizza sauce, and the cheese… OMG!! I definitely recommend this pizza and it’s extremely affordable for a good size pizza and plenty of slices.
P.S if you want to live out your “Goofy Movie” cheese pizza dreams, order the cheese pizza with extra cheese. The cheese pull is EVERYTHING!!! I’m definitely coming...
Read moreFirst time having Goombas Pizzeria, didn't disappoint, the pizza was delicious and a great value for lunch. I had the Combo #1, 2 Slices of Pizza and a Drink for $10.50. The pizza slices were huge and one slice probably could've done it. The crust was the best part, thin and crispy, and was just perfect. Not to self, this is on me, I like my pizzas with a little more sauce and should've asked for extra sauce ($.50) on the side when being rung up. Other than that, I'd definitely come back, this is legitimate pizza. Awesome service, quick and great value. Only draw back, not on Goombas Pizzeria, is that it's in the Wonderland Mall Food Court. I wish this place was restored to its original beauty to compliment eateries like this, but it won't keep me from coming here, in general all the patrons...
Read moreThe craziest part about this place is the location! It may very well be the best Pizza in San Antonio and its probably the best kept secret in San Antonio because its in such a dead mall. I grew up in Bensonhurst, Brooklyn which is the Pizza capital of NYC and a slice from Goomba's is like a slice of home. The people are so nice and the food is so good.
Not sure if its related to the pizzeria of the same name on Wurzbach but that one isnt as good as the one in Crossroads mall. Overpriced and the pizza just doesnt taste the same.
The two best Pizzeria's in San Antonio are THIS ONE in Crossroads Mall and "Dough! Forever" on Blanco/410. For an everyday, classic, perfect slice come to Goomba's. For date night and those with the willingness to spend money on artisan stuff, the latter is...
