I went yesterday to Luby's to take advantage of the kid's eat for free deal with an adult entree. The cashier charged me for one of my kids's meals. When I pointed that out she said she needed to get a manager to correct the mistake. What ended up happening is that Luby's charged me for the incorrect amount and the correct amount. I am ending paying over $60.00 for this so called "special". I discovered their mistake this morning when I reviewed my online transactions. I drove back to this location only to be told by their manager that their was nothing they could do. And that I have to wait 5-7 business days to get that credit back. I told they should have cancelled that transaction to begin with but again I got no where with this assistant manager. It did not matter to him that I am on a tight budget nor that it was their employees mistake to begin with. This is not the first time I have had such a big problem with them overcharging me. I do not recommend anyone to go this establishment as they are only concerned about their bottom line and not servicing their customers. I will now have visit my credit union in hopes that they can help me resolved this matter as Luby's has not. Save your money and go somewhere that will value your business.
Update 8-16-2020 This Luby's keeps getting worse. I only went because my Mom likes this location. Why I do not know? They ran out of cheese sauce by 2pm, no mash potatoes, no ketchup, no parmesean cheese for your spaghetti, food was lukewarm and or cold, no Sprite, soda tasted like soap. Part of the restuarant was hot so their A/C is not working either. The restroom was filthy and smelled of urine event with a mask on. This location look like it needs to be renovated and they need to get better managers to run this place properly. But it seems that Luby's does not place more effort if their restaurant is located in a poorer part of the city. This location should have been shut down years ago. I see now why Luby's is failing. Read moreI went to Luby's for dinner but went inside through the line to get it to go. I asked for the baked almondine combo and Luann chicken fried chicken. I had to wait for the chicken because they didn't have any prepared yet. However, that wasn't a problem. What was the problem is when I got to the counter to pay for my food, the cashier Mary (my receipt said the cashier was Maria) was very rude and nasty! I told her my order, and she proceeded to ring up my order. However, she charged me too much for my order. I explained to her that I had a combo plate and a luann plate. She stated very rudely, the chicken fried chicken doesn't come as a combo. I asked why the staff didn't tell me that when they took my order or her before ringing up the order. She said I don't know but it doesn't come as Luann and what other meat do I want. I wasn't sure since the chicken fried chicken was what I wanted. So as I was trying to make up my mind, she rudely told me to stand over to the side because she got other customers waiting. She never offered to explain which meats come on the Luann. Not until I asked her did she tell me. But she said it so fast that I had to ask her again. She said I have other people waiting and proceeded to ring up the other customer as if I wasn't standing there! I looked to see the name on her name tag and asked to speak to her manager. She said they were busy. So I asked who the manager was? Then she decided she would stop being rude and her whole attitude changed, but by then, the damage had already been done. Read moreIt's sad anyway you see it. Lubys was the place for good food. We went to the one of 410 and Fredericksburg rd. Walked in and out course there's a line, no biggie. We always get the same, chicken fried steak with they works. She asked we ordered. she says it's going to be at least 10 min wait, ok no biggie. Moving along the line, next server says, what can I get you, mashed potatoes and corn with white gravy and a roll. We pay and grab a booth. We start nibbling on the potato and corn thinking the steak will come soon.. 20 min goes buy and wifey gets up because she knew I was about to snap And we were done with the potatoes and corn. By then I was done, I'll take mine to go. Wifey asked for the manager who walks out with gloves on like he was moving sooner kind of meat. To make things worse, he couldn't of been no more than 20yrs old. Wifey has a talk with him but by the expressions on his face, it showed he didn't care. As the server JOHN, he kept on saying sorry, ANGEL the manager walked away.. John your the best at what you do. Thank you for the great service. the cashiers didn't care much either, they were like whatever with there face expressions. It's all good lubys.. you never know who's eating at your place.
