Horrible Customer service ! Very rude servers. I come here once/ twice a week. Never an issue. Today there was an issue with my server. She’s unable to speak English (which Isn’t a problem. But if you don’t understand, have someone help you to avoid miscommunication). I always order my food the same way and there’s never an issue. Today my food comes out all wrong. I don’t like to send my food back but into the point I won’t eat it; it needs to be remade cuz I’m not wasting my money. So everything was wrong at thing point it just gonna leave. The French toast was soggy after asking them to make sure it’s cooked a little longer, the eggs weren’t browned as I asked, the potatoes were freezing cold like they came out the fridge. And they didn’t have the pan dulce that comes with the meal and was rude when they told me they didn’t have it. I start to leave and explain the issue however they didn’t care to hear and just said leave. So I continue explaining the issue to another server who speaks English better. I tell her I’m a regular, there’s never an issue, and I list all the things that were wrong. The sever belittles me, makes excuses for the other lady, talks down to me, tries to kick me out bec she says I’m disrespectful. I tell her I’m not yelling, im not screaming, I’m not cussing at her and I’m not causing a scene. She just does not like what I’m saying and the coaching I’m giving. The lady’s were extremely rude. I’ve interacted with them before with no problems at all.! The manager was not present so I’m sure they felt like they could act any way they wanted. I wanted the manager to call me and they kept refusing. I educated them and said if they wanted to help they could take my info down and have him call me back: they declined. They made me feel stupid and kept trying to change the story around. I can understand Spanish a bit and they were trying to kick me out end de escalate the situation versus escalate the situation they don’t have any customer service and dont know how to treat people. Horrible place lost my business. Never gonna spend a dime here again. Next one of the ladies who speaking Spanish wants to call the police because I’m being disrespectful, she says. I told him that I’m not causing the scene. I’m not doing anything that the police need to come here and if they want to call the police, please do. I told them that I’m gonna finish writing my review and then I’ll leave when I’m ready. They agreed bec they know calling the police would have been a waste of resources and you can’t call the police for nothing. Again I’ll never come here again: they didn’t need to handle it like that. All they need to say was “ I’m sorry that the food did not come out how you expected. You’re a regular here and we apologize that happened however we will do the right thing and will recook it for you. We think that there was just a Miscommunication But we will make sure it won’t happen again.” But no, they didn’t take any ownership. They try to claim the food was made right Try to say that I didn’t know how I like the food. Didn’t apologize. And didn’t de-escalate the situation at all. Attached are the two pictures of the servers who were rude. The one by the line cook section was the main issue. The other lady by the fire extinguisher was just trying to escalate the situation and the one who couldn’t speak...
Read moreMy 1st visit to this new establishment in my neighborhood.
Well, it isn't REALLY new, the building used to be a Church's Chicken. They completely redid the whole place. Now, if I had to guess the buildings former life, I would say it was a gas station with at least 1 bay. But don't let that fool you. The place has a very upscale feel, with a full bar, comfortable lighting, and a traditional Tex-Mex menu also executed with an upscale style.
The restaurant is table service, so you sit down and place your order. I was greeted promptly and immediately brought my sweet tea with lemons. She also brought a bowl of chips and a cup of salsa. The chips were fresh and crispy, and the salsa had just enough heat for me to want to keep eating it.
I had the Carne Asado plate with 2 rolled beef fajita tacos, rice, refried beans, guacamole, and a generous portion of pico de gallo. The meal was served fairly promptly & on a rectangular plate that made the portions appear small, but it was still too much food for me alone.
The rolled tacos were in flour tortillas that just sung to me. They were fresh off the griddle and pillowy soft with that carb-satisfying yeast flavor, and a bite that would tear or rip, however you want it. The beef had good flavor and was adequately tender. I will order raise again. The rice was good with good grain separation, and had corn and peas mixed sparingly. The refried beans were very flavorful and just the right consistency for spreading on a tortilla, dipping a chip, or mixing with some rice. The guacamole was delicious. It had a little bit of mix-ins but was mostly smooth. I prefer big chunks of avocado in my guacamole, but this had a good avocado taste, so it was okay.
The only reason I gave it 4 stars was because my waitress seemed to disappear, & I had to ask someone else to take my to-go order and cash out my bill. Overall a good experience that I would enjoy sharing...
Read moreEarlier this week I tried Taquila Jalisco on Fredricksburg Rd near Wonderland Mall. They are located on the corner of Crossroads Blvd and Fredricksburg, across the street from the Whataburger.
Was shopping in the area, and decided to give this place a try. When I saw they offered a birria plate, I was able to make a decision on what to order pretty quick.
The meal started off great, chips, salsa and bean dip were brought out. This was maybe the 2nd or 3rd place I've ever been to that served hot liquidy bean dip with the chips. The bean dip was great, and I had high hopes for the Birria that was on its way.
After about 10 minutes, my birria arrived. Now, I guess I have more to learn about birria. Someone informed me birria tacos with cheese are quesabirria, not the same. But this was a birria plate, which now In retrospect I assume is not intended to be eaten as tacos. The meat was served with chopped onion and cilantro. But even as it was served, the birria lacked flavor and was on the bland side, the plate did not include beans, just rice, and as a whole was disappointing. The little liquid (consome) it had didnt have much flavor.
I tried the rice, which had peas and carrots in it, it was fluffy, and semi-moist, but was pretty plain and didn't really add any flavor to the meal.
Overall the meal was OK, but I probably won't go back. The plate was about $13, which is on the higher side for birria even at taco trucks. Service was good, my waitress checked on my table multiple times, the restaurant & bathrooms were clean & modern, & while the menu offered a decent amount of selections, they failed to deliver flavor...
