My first visit to Sushi Nomu was enjoyable. The decor is upscale and makes the open industrial space feel warm and inviting . We were greeted promptly and the service was outstanding throughout our visit. I found it sad to see the dining room virtually empty at dinner time on a Friday night though. We started with a glass of wine and an order of gyoza, served warm with nice flavor. The Nomu Miso Ramen looked so good I forgot to take a picture. A generous serving of flavorful broth with noodles topped by a modest amount of veg. I had higher expectations for the Signature Salmon Lovers Roll ($15). The serving was small and without distinction in favor or presentation. Sadly, it looked identical to one I purchased at Wegmans out of the freezer case. The Spicy Tuna roll ($8) looked exactly the same. Ordinary in favor and presentation, there was some spice to the sauce that was drizzled on top but I was not able to taste the flavors of the spicy kimchi. I think Sushi Nomu gets an A for effort and I will return to try more of their menu on another day but based on my experiences dining at Yuraku, Sushi Nomu will need to up their game to build a dedicated customer base of...
Read moreOver the Memorial weekend, we dined at a Japanese restaurant “Sushi Nomu” that is nestled in Frederick's Domino’s Plaza by Buckeystown Pike of Route 85, Maryland. Upon stepping inside, we were greeted by a friendly waitress. It's evident that Sushi Nomu is a new establishment that boasts clean, modern Japanese decor and a straightforward menu. For four of us, we indulged in a feast of sushi, sashimi, and ramen. The Sashimi Deluxe and Sushi Deluxe were well presented with their fresh and artfully arranged offerings. Meanwhile, the Tonkotsu (Pig bone) Ramen and Shoyu Truffle Ramen, brewed in white soy sauce with egg and truffle, provided hearty, flavorful options that satisfied our cravings. Complementing our meal with the crisp and refreshing Japanese beer, Sapporo, served in elegant glassware, we thoroughly enjoyed the Japanese delicacies especially with our good friends. Overall, Sushi Nomu offers quality food, friendly service, and a modern ambiance, providing a pleasant dining experience for those enjoying Japanese cuisine outside the traditional setting...
Read moreThoroughly enjoyed dining at Sushi Nomu. I came in for lunch with a friend so we can catch up and everything. She ordered Edamame and a dragon roll. I opted for the Ten Donburi. She was very pleased with her order, and I absolutely devoured my donburi! Serving portions are very standard. They were also filling.
My friend and I were catching up after not having seen each other for a couple years. It took us a minute to look over the menu and decide what to order because we kept getting distracted. The wait staff were really patient and stayed friendly, even though they had to come back a couple times to take our orders. They were quite busy with a constant stream of diners coming in.
The dining area was clean and beautifully decorated. They have plenty of tables that they can separate for smaller parties or connect for larger parties. They also have high chairs for people with kids/babies.
I greatly enjoyed Sushi Nomu and would not hesitate to come back and try a...
