If you are following me. You may know I have 2 points I mention in my reviews often. That I dine with my wife and her college friend and husband monthly. The other is garlic, and my wife does not get along well. Tonight was county 's turn to pick restaurants. They chose Mia Sorella, the sister restaurant, to our city restaurant, Trattoria Marcella . The food was fantastic, the atmosphere was great, and the service was top-notch. We started with an appetizer, the eggplant Parmigiano . This was very flavorful of lots of cheese and melt in your mouth tenderness eggplant. we ordered wine , red and white. The red was a route stock Cabernet. I had a Chardonnay that was light but with a buttery finish. The route stock was smooth all throughout with a little earthy taste with plum accents. We split the bill since each couple had the same dish. The men had the lasagna, and the ladies had the chicken Risotto . I flipped back and forth on getting the Risotto or not but was pleased I chose the lasagna. Besides, my wife could not eat all of hers, and I had it for lunch the next day. Our lasagna was delicious, sweet, meaty flavors. The thin layers of noodles were tender with a good mouth feel. Once I took the first bite, it was really hard to stop eating . The Risotto was chicken in a creamy white sauce with lemons, asparagus, mushroom, and parmesan. This too was delicious. You can not go wrong with either of the restaurants. It s a tribute to moma Marcella. Trattoria has been around 30 years, and Mia Sorella has been cooking up favorites for 13 years. I believe. Lastly, service is top notch at both, but the service from Rachel, our server at Mia Sorella, was above and beyond. Go visit Rachel and enjoy a pleasant night out on the patio...
Read moreSeptember 2022 Sorry but I have to change my previous review down to two stars. They have changed the menu. My favorite dish, the beef medallions Modigo no longer has the grilled asparagus. They only give you the beef and a side of pasta and they upped the price $4.00 more. I know that restaurant prices have gone up but to take away a healthy item and do a price increase is ridiculous. I asked the server why no asparagus and he said they couldn't get it. Hmm....I buy it all the time.
I switched my choice, on his recommendation, and went witht the lasagna. It was the worst lasagna I've ever been served. All in all a very expensive evening with little enjoyment except for company of friends.
June 2022 We absolutely love this restaurant. Fantastic food and excellent service. Prices have increased just like every other restaurant has since the pandemic but not as much as some places. They are not out to makeup loses overnight but to provide really good food and stellar service. The Beef Tenderloin Modega is my favorite. Son, daughter-in-law and grandsons went with us for first time. Boys loved the pizza, son thought chicken parmesan was delicious and the salmon salad was fresh and tasty. The only complaint I had was it was my 70th birthday and the only birthday dessert they offer is the Tiramisu so if you don't like coffee you lose out on a free dessert. They should offer at least a bowl of spumoni. Just a suggestion. Also, there's a special the chef puts on the menu, a veal tortellini in garlic sauce. My husband loves it. Problem is we don't know when it's going to be on the menu. They should post a weekly schedule for specials on their website or put this dish on the permanent menu. ...
Read moreWe went back and I had the chicken panini...the chicken was moist and tender! The service was insanely fast. The panini bread component was more like a toasted bun but it worked well. Originalreview follows... We got to the location and found the parking lot almost full...figured we'd be eating elsewhere...but alas, we got right in! There are a lot of businesses using the lot and a lot of the tables in the restaurant were filled with people gathering with friends, so likely nearly 1 car per 1 or 2 people. The bar was super crowded with people who seemed to be having a great time talking to each other. The restaurant was also nicely full! Everyone seemed to be having an enjoyable time. That did make things fairly loud...but conversation was still achievable. Service was super fast and staff was very attentive. You may see lots of empty tables in my photo, but that was we left and was approaching 8 pm on a Monday....it was not empty as we entered. This place is popular. Back to the food. The basic side salad was fantastic. Cold, crisp, and full of nice flavors. The waiter suggested splitting one salad by the 2 of us and that was a perfect amount of salad for each of us. The main course was very good. Flavors were good. My wife's salmon dish was very good. My chicken dish was good. The breadt meat was pretty flattened and a bit tough, I am sort of used to thicker tender cuts of chicken. The dessert was great. Salted Caramel Gelato.. with caramel sauce. It was really spectacular. It was a great meal. We enjoyed the food and...
