Would give 0 stars if I could, but I can't. I'd been going to this place for a couple of years, paying their overinflated prices as of late, but never again.Because I prefer not to keel over and die as the result of food poisoning. Went into this place for a late lunch and ordered Antipasti and a pie. The bread that comes with the Antipasti was covered in mold (typical Baltimore, I know). Even bread in a convenience store doesn't have mold on it (unless, I guess, you're in Baltimore). What's ironic is that in the two years or so years I've frequented Iggies, the Antipasti never even came with bread. The cheeses, meats, and vegetables from before were changed to some crap out of a Sun of Italy jar and thrown on a plate with a wedge of bread in the middle. An obvious cost-cutting technique even though the price of damn near everything on the menu has gone up. I mean, seriously, I understand how inflation works, raise the prices but keep the quality and standards. Now, I know what you're thinking: "Maybe this was a one-off occurrence, it won't be like that when I go." Proceed at your own peril, as this place has been on a slippery slope as of late. I'm not sure if they've had a change in management or ownership, but this place is Ramsay's Kitchen Nightmares bound. Not only are their tactics bad business, but they're gonna get someone sick, if they haven't already. The Baltimore Sun and City Paper may keep propping them up with those ridiculous 'best pizza tournaments', but on a day to day basis, this place is doomed to fail unless something changes quick. You can tell by the Google ratings. Prior to a year or so ago, I'd be shocked to see Iggies with anything less than four stars. Now it's a regular occurrence. Hell, after the last two visits, I'm surprised...
Read moreNever heard of this place but went here yesterday and oh my God, an awesome experience! I will definitely be bringing visitors of Baltimore here! First off the service was fantastic. The only person working there was a guy who was super funny and friendly and had incredible customer service. I would go again just to experience him lol! Second, it’s BYOB, and they also have wine glasses out for you that you can use if you bring wine. But best of all, the pizza was so damn good!! my friend is gluten-free and he wanted to share my pizza so I also got a gluten-free crust and it was actually one of the best pizza crusts I’ve ever had. I have to go again sometime to try the normal crust, but I loved the gluten free crust so much that I might not even switch it up. The toppings were so good, the sauce was flavorful, and (back to the customer service) I was able to change a couple of the toppings at no extra charge, which was so awesome. Furthermore, my friend’s pizza kind of got messed up on 1/2 of it, so when it came out, we only got half of his pizza, but then the person working brought him an entire whole pizza to make up for having only getting 1/2. You really can’t find that kind of customer service everywhere. and we didn’t even...
Read moreI have always enjoyed Iggie's pizza as it was exactly like the pizzas in Italy. My wife and I would drive 45 minutes into the city to get their "take and bake" pies and always enjoyed them. Last week, I ordered 3 pies for take out and when I got home, I was somewhat taken aback that the crust changed from the authentic Italian style to the thick and typical American pizza pie. While the ingredients were high quality, the crust is nowhere near as good as the original crust. The restaurant is clearly under new management, but they should revert to the old style the game Iggie's its cult-like following. I would say the pizzas are still good, but they are no longer great, nor are they worth the drive with this current iteration. Unless these pies revert to the old format, I will not be returning...and I'm sure there are many other people out there who feel...
