The staging itself was great for a comedy show. The layout was more intimate than I anticipated based on the seating chart. I also appreciated the gender neutral bathrooms. Any woman knows how long we have to wait in line usually when the show is over, so it being designed for both made it move a bit faster. My slight criticisms were that it was freezing in the foyer/hallway as we were in line for the bathroom. Like BITTER cold. Also, there were no refreshments available after the show. My show was over by 9pm. Considering the part of the city it’s in (no easy to access convenience stores in walking distance before the main garage), it would’ve been nice to be able to grab a water on the way out. Finally I was late to my show. It happens. They wanted me to wait for more late arrivals to enter, so I had to miss more of the show. While I get the reasoning that it’s easier for a staff member to bring in more people at once and theoretically less disruptive, the room was howling with laughter. No one paid us any mind. I had to wait almost 10 minutes for one other late person to enter with me, so that was unfortunate. The show itself is only 80 minutes long total. My comedy show had no opener and started promptly at show time. In the past this performer has always an opener. Slightly frustrating, BUT my fault so I understood. That said, the employee then tried to direct me to sit me in a section towards the back of the room once we finally did enter. I didn’t pay more money to sit up close just to be shoved in a seat towards the back because I was a few minutes late. I am a hard of hearing, so I just let the fella know I was going to go to my seat so I could hear the show. He nervously obliged, but it was a bit awkward. As a disabled individual it would’ve ruined my entire night if I would’ve stayed way in the back and not been able to hear or see as well. So fair warning to anybody else attending…make sure to get there EXTRA early or you may be expected to forfeit your seat that you paid more for. All in all a nice venue and I would go there to see a show again. I’d just make sure to bring a heavy coat if it’s winter, some extra drinking water, and be prepared to arrive...

We got free tickets thanks to patron donations, so I can't really complain too much. But I have to say there are a few logistical things that bothered me. For one they still enforce incredibly strict Covid rules even though they require everyone to be fully vaxxed including boosters. Why still wear a mask then? It was hard to sit in the heat with a mask. The prices for concessions were quite high and worst part was I couldn't bring it into the theater even though they made me purchase a cup with lid for a dollar. In other theaters you're allowed to bring those cups into the theater. The play we watched was interesting... I almost walked out in the beginning, but for mere reasons of intrigue decided to stay and watch the whole thing. It turned out to be so bizarre it was actually worth watching. Certainly far from what I had expected and on a very distant realm from traditional theater. My favorite performer was the dancer who was very interesting to watch. There were some grotesque elements that made a couple in the front seat leave presumably out of disgust. I was safe in the back but would have been pretty upset if I was sprayed with liquids like some people...

What a lovely place to spend a night. The event? It was a celebration for educators, and so this location was selected. Tucked away between a line of buildings, except for the brilliantly-arched lighting and signage, you could easily pass it. However, once you make the deliberate move up the 8 or so steps to the building, the brilliance really shines. You arrive into a lobby reception area that is open and well-laid out. On your right is a little cafe and bar with an opposing open dining area, across from another cool hangout spot.

Above you appears the balcony and entrance to upper seats set by recessed lights and artwork And to your left, and in front, open standing area or picture taking space, with leather-cushioned seats for the fatigued. Once you enter the amphitheater, seats are arranged descending towards the stage. Acoustics were great, setting okay. Only a bit of difficulty with parking because of location.

Still, a lovely and elegant location for any event if you enjoy an evening well spent! For sure,...

Beautiful venue to see Akeelah and the Bee with 400 youth and nonprofits, a way to allow margnalized residents see theatrical performances that speak to their issues if bullying, peer pressure, doing the right thing when not popular, isolation, Latino shaming, competition, and being smart is an peer offense - so many dumb down to be accepted, but it also showed the stengths- coaching is what all youth need to be Greater, Obedience is not control but a vehicle to shift mindset for the when, give your best to hone your craft or talent and ut will make away for you. God promised your purpose will make room for you in any room, stand in your awesomeness minority people. Despite the political climate or the racism you were meant to be fabulous. This was a very enjoyable local and regional theatrical venue. Attended a mid-week play so there was only one play being presented. However, within Baltimore Center Stage there are several small theaters where multiple productions can go on at the same time. Our theater was small and intimate. We were about four rows from the stage and the actors and stage setting were close, easy to hear and really made the story come alive. There were places to grab a drink or snack but one was closed and the second floor snack bar seemed limited in offerings, at least for a matinee. Building is older but it's great that is being used for live theater. Bathrooms were gender-neutral. Parking was across the street and diagonal. Reasonably priced, and a nice garage. There was construction around the entrance which made the garage tough to get to.
