Awww, Loved it here. Stopped past on a late Sat afternoon with a gud friend after a movie @ Senator Theatre. Cute Cozy little Neighborhood Bar/Pub Dive located within Belvedere Square area here in Baltimore. Very Often, the simplest places are some of The Best food & service. Just come in, sit somewhere; we had no long wait. I discovered why they are Food Network Approved. ✌️ Menu was adequate. They do have Specials. Food didn't take that long but I can imagine when swamped might take longer: Worth the Wait though. This is some Delicious Home Cookin;' Not Fast Food. There is Care Put Into the food: You Can See & Taste it. Very Cool, Laid-Back, Fun & Friendly Vibe. Not too crowded but still a decent amount of ppl relaxing, eating, enjoying. You will feel Comfortable here no matter who you are. Genuinely Cool Staff who are Nice, Friendly, & Efficient without being intrusive; they really take Care of u too. Food was gr8! Everything came very warm almost hot. Quality meal & ingredients. 1 of THE BEST Crabcakes in town: Seasoned & Broiled to Perfection. Nice & Moist, tender : DELICIOUS. Never had a cake seasoned (SO Flavorful) that way + nice amount of crab w/ minimal filler. Luv the crispy fries w/a bit of potato skin. Nothing was oversalted which is happening in far too many restaurants now. Good Portions. Tasty Wings & Fries. Reasonable Prices. Clean. Not TOO Loud. Temp inside not too hot or chilly but just right. You can sit back watch games/TV and/or just Chill & Talk. They were having a contest for Orioles Game and if you guessed the right #, u got a free drink. Another Hidden Gem here in Bmore. Will Be Back: Totally Recommend!💯✌️👍

My first visit to Swallow At The Hollow was positive. This spot has a local dive bar feel, with friendly staff. It can get a bit noisy if there's a sporting event on TV. The menu features plenty of Baltimore and Eastern Shore classics, such as cream of crab soup, crab cakes, and hand-cut French fries. The fries were fantastic – perfectly fried and even better with malt vinegar. I had the soft-shell crab sandwich special (not on menu) which came on toast with mayo. I asked them to bring it on new bread, which they did without issue because I didn't know it came with mayo. A brioche roll would be a nice touch, but the sandwich was still delicious. The tomato slices were ripe, the pickle spear was good, and drink refills were timely. I also tried my friend's French onion soup, which was a bit too salty for my taste and had some Italian seasoning on top that didn't quite fit. Maybe less salt and no Italian seasoning would improve it. Prices were very reasonable, and I'd definitely return. Overall, it was a great experience, and I'd recommend Swallow At The Hollow to anyone looking for a nice local spot.

Wowwwwww, but did I get treated like a Rock Star at the Swallow!! It was this gorgeous day, I really wanted just to enjoy it, but Johnny's on Roland had absolutely SUCKED (I actually just got up and left my table, the service was so pitiful), and I was down because I didn't know where else to go. I remember the Swallow from my JHU days... and we went there for... libations. Not for grub. But Pottsi saved the day! Taking a chance on the Swallow ended up being the hands-down best choice of my 2day stay in Balto. He served me the most beautiful fish sandwich (perfectly cooked, seasoned, and as hot as the fries-- & they had malt vinegar to go with 'em), treated me with the highest respect but was also relaxed and funny, and this man gave me a couple of meeeean Orange Crushes. Which he had to educate me actually consist of orange vodka, not the bourbon I'd been having them with. Pottsi is fun, transparent, and a top-notch guy to run the bar. Until we meet again, Pot.

Swallow at the Hollow is a fun place to go after a movie, or to just enjoy pub food.at a low standard of diiing out and not even on a budget because their prices are on par with a 4 star restaurant. Im guessing their milking the locals.. They are 99% meat centrit, , so veetarians, vegans and the whole foodie lot may want to head elsewhere. It was a Monday when a few friends met there after the movie for a bite to eat. Waiter was friendly and easy going, likeable. He was running bar and food simultaneously and I complimented him.on his ability to multi-task. I ordered the Fish & Chip special. We'll it wasn't special at all. The fries were not fresh , rather dark and burnt which ruined half my meal and I was not happy. Fries looked cooked in old oil because burnt fries look this way when they dont change the oil, so they obviously cut corners. I left half on my plate and a friend helped me eat the other half only because we were so hungry , choking them down because we were starving... the fish was OK but not amazing. Obviously the chef has never been to Bermuda, or anywhere else because his food is mediocre at best as I observed in the pub. . The food has no distinctive taste and blends and blands into your other food adding no food experience at al leaving you feeling cheated. The tomatoes looked like ghost tomatoes on my friends grill cheese and tuna melt., light in color and under ripened. The cheese is the all time disguise of what's underneath the bun and thats scary.... I paid $30 for 2 IPA beers and fish & chips. The greens they served on my plate were a bit of an anomaly because they had no food connection to my fish & chips and burnt fries. What a waste of food because I had NO REASON to eat this ridiculous, at best garnish. I know pub food is not always the best or even good at all, however some people will eat anything. So go ahead and Swallow at the Hollow and enjoy the local vibe. As for me, it's a great place for a beer and that's it.. TASTEFULLY YOURS BALTIMORE FOOD CRITIC We don't judge we just offer our personal experiences of food, service ...
