I’ve been a loyal Starbucks customer for 20 years, enjoying their coffee and drinks across the USA and in about 50 countries. However, one of my worst experiences was at the Starbucks on Broadway in Bangor, Maine. I know they’ve only been open for a few months, but customer service should still be a priority. The staff needs to be friendlier and use a more pleasant tone. As a new location, they should focus on creating a positive experience to keep customers coming back.
Unfortunately, I found the service there to be quite poor and unfriendly. It’s no excuse that they’re new. One simple suggestion would be to have staff wear name tags so customers know who is making their drinks and can address them directly if there’s an issue.
For example, when I approached the woman at the front register, I assumed she was on duty as she listened to my order. After I finished, she suddenly told me she wasn’t working yet and hadn’t clocked in. If that’s the case, she shouldn’t have been standing at the counter, especially without interrupting me earlier. That left a bad impression.
Another issue was when I ordered a Frappuccino with two extra shots of espresso blended in. I’ve ordered this countless times at other Starbucks locations, so I know the taste well. But when I got my drink, I couldn’t taste the espresso at all. When I asked, the woman assured me they had added it, but I know they didn’t, or at least not the way I requested.
To the management: please retrain your staff on providing excellent customer service. First impressions matter, especially for a new store. Many customers, including those new to Starbucks, will base their opinions on experiences like this. Despite this negative experience, I’ll remain a loyal Starbucks customer, but I hope this location improves. **I was impressed with how clean the store was, including the bathroom and dining area. They even have Tesla charging stations in the back, which makes it an amazing location fitness gym...
Read moreMy only worse experience at ANY fast food restaurant was at the other Bangor Starbucks, on the Bangor Mall Blvd. It took me over an hour to get the right coffee. I never complain online, but this is unacceptable. I went through the drivethru this morning. We were in the drivethru for around a half an hour total. The person we ordered from was polite, and the person who eventually served our order to us was satisfactory. We ordered two sandwiches and two drinks, including a frozen one. I was fine to spend that much time for what I want. I pulled away, not wanting to waste anymore time for others too. I sipped my coffee driving down the road, it was wrong. I checked the tag, it was not what I ordered. I went back out of principle. I went inside and waited a long time for someone to take my order. They were very busy. I’m sure I looked annoyed but was not rude to anyone. I was now at the back of everyone’s line and NO ONE made an attempt to expedite my order. In fact, the boy behind me had his name move on the progress board before mine. I called the restaurant and asked to speak with the general manager. She said they weren’t there, but best to call. I asked for an email, she said, eventually, that she couldn’t remember the email off of the top of her head. I tried to remain polite, but was fuming. I would like the Bangor on Broadway store manager to issue me a full refund for my order, that is the absolute LEAST that...
Read moreTerrible experience, I can’t believe that a customer can’t order a custom drink with three items in it and all the items not be in the drink. The barista doesn’t want to take a 30 seconds it takes to add everything to the drink and just pours the Iced Passion Fruit tea into the cup and moves onto the next order. I need a refund and of course when the drink gets dropped off to me and I see it’s wrong it’s already past closing time at 8. Retrain your staff, I visit Starbucks once sometimes twice a day and EVERYTIME lately at this location they don’t take the time to make the drinks correctly. I am going to switch back to the Target location because they always craft the drink correctly. By far and wide every time I go to New Jersey I NEVER have an issue at those Starbucks locations. Broadway needs to figure it out and stop wasting my money. Manager refund me and I’ll fix your low one star rating if not I’ll simply go out of my way daily to go to the Target...
