I wish I'd picked anywhere else. Stopped in on a Thursday morning for breakfast. Just a warning, if you like frozen/packaged food you'll probably love it here. Nothing was fresh. Frozen sausage patties, frozen hashbrown patties, instant grits, cheap bread...there was no quality to anything we were served. Even the whipped butter and coffee creamer (no refrigeration necessary) was blah. Everything was just overcooked and dry. The eggs, which require at least a little effort, were way overcooked. Asked for over easy, but the yolks were completely cooked through, so ended up with a fried egg. Unfortunately, the service was no better. It was not at all busy and there were 3 servers and we still did not get good service. We were greeted well enough and the girl who took our order was friendly enough, but that was the end of it. They brought our coffee and food and there the service ended. Never asked if we'd like more coffee or if everything was ok or did we need anything. The server didn't even say anything when she slipped the check on the table. First time in a long time that we tipped the bare minimum...they were lucky...

After being a resident of the Bardstown area for nearly 5 years I finally decided to give Pats place a try. I ordered a ham and turkey club with chips and a sweet tea. Unfortunately, I just got a turkey and bacon sandwich with some chips and a sweet tea. I have been craving a club for months and was a little bit disappointed. Let me tell you about the pie though. For dessert I ordered a slice of chocolate cream pie. It was absolutely divine. Today’s my birthday and that slice of chocolate pie just about made my day. To sum things up. Pats place is your typical little hole in the wall joint. It has a limited menu, mostly sandwiches. I will probably never consider lunch there again but will definitely consider the place if I am in search of somewhere to have a tasty dessert. The service was good. Everyone was very friendly and the atmosphere, although rather dated and lacking any pleasing color was clean and accommodating. If I would’ve got that turkey and ham club I was so desperately in desire of I would have gave this...

If you’re looking for a true hidden gem in the heart of downtown Bardstown, Pat’s Place is it! This family-owned, mom-and-pop diner nails that old-school atmosphere with warm hospitality and classic comfort food done right.

The soup is homemade and packed with rich, comforting flavors—just like something your grandma would make. Their chicken tenders are hand-breaded, crispy, and perfectly juicy, proving that simple, well-made food is always the best. The burgers are everything a diner burger should be: fresh, flavorful, and cooked to perfection.

And let’s talk about their epic Bloody Mary—it’s not just a drink, it’s an experience! Loaded with bold flavors and all the right garnishes, it’s a must-try for anyone who loves a good cocktail with personality.

Pat’s Place is the kind of spot that makes you feel at home the second you walk in. The friendly service, cozy vibe, and downright delicious food make it a Bardstown staple. Whether you're a local or just passing through, this is a place you don’t...

Nine years ago my wife and I discovered a little bit of small town America that embodies " all " of what endears us to Bardstown Kentucky in a quaint wonderful restaurant run by Pat . As an added bonus you also may have the good fortune to be served by one of the twins, her adult twin daughters who work there. If Bardstown could be distilled into a lunch dining experience this would be it. Its like going back into time when America was filled with friendly wonderful little places like this all across the land. Their burgers are also delicious and filling. They are one of the cleanest tasting hamburgers on the planet. Whenever I long to see, feel and experience good food with a generous helping of hospitality dating back to our American roots I eat here with my wife. Somehow it resets me and makes the world seem more normal. Much like the old sitcom years ago, this is a place like Cheers, where everybody knows your name and they're always glad you came.

I have to admit it is a good spot to go to if you're really hankering for a chicken sandwich. It would be ideal if it were posted outside the diner that breakfast ends at 10:30. We arrived at about 11:50 and, having waited til Bardstown to have coffee, were really excited to have it with a breakfast. All signs indicated breakfast and there was no reason to believe it ended so early. From our perspective as travellers, we have only one opportunity to eat while passing through, and we wanted to make it count, so to order the coffee then find out after that all we can have with it is chicken sandwiches or burgers was uncomfortable and frustrating.
