Simply Housemade & Catering — Restaurant in Barre City

Our family has ordered from Simply Subs a number of times since we moved here from the Burlington area. Every single time...every single time, and we've had wrong items delivered, sandwiches made incorrectly, pizzas with missing toppings, cold food after waiting over an hour...over a whole HOUR for our dinner to be delivered. Every time, I've called simply to make them aware that, yet again, someone in our family was disappointed because they didn't get the dinner they were looking forward to, and I've heard nothing but excuses, busy, new staff, delivery guy gave us the wrong order, blahs, blahs, blah. BUT-this last time really took the cake, and made me very angry. When I asked the young man who answered the phone, the same one who took my order, how this can happen over, and over again, and why it is he could read my order back to me, and I STILL get the wrong stuff...he says..."well, honestly, it's because we're so short staffed." Well, honestly, sir, that's no excuse for giving people cold food, the WRONG food, the WRONG size, and to charge then for things they never even got to enjoy! I left my name and number for the owner to call me back, but just as expected...no call. No balls...obviously he thinks it's ok to pick people's pocket, and charge them for things they don't get...I pay for a house special...and get a Turkey sub with NOTHING on it...order a large onion ring, and get a SMALL...and that's just the beginning, and not the only time. How is this ok?? Shame on you! I will NEVER order from this place again and will make sure to tell everyone I know not to waste their hard earned money at this establishment...nothing but crooks! If there were 0 stars...you'd be getting that....

I have eaten at Simply Subs for many years, and have recommended the place numerous times. Customer service was always supreme, food presentation and quality was great. Being back in the area I decided to stop in on my lunch break, only to be disappointed right from the minute of opening the door. The place was filthy! But giving the benefit of the doubt I decided to remain loyal. Yet my disappointment grew by the minute. There were no slices of pizza, but ok...I grabbed an iced tea, piece of cake, and some cookies and stood at the register. The cashier left to attend to another customer, ok I thought they were here first. While standing at the register, I witnessed employees touching screens and then immediately touching food. Then a customer got rang up, awesome I will get out of here. Nope she walked off again. Then another customer got rang up by a different employee, and he too walked away. I decided I didn't need that food that much so put it back and left. I headed over to Subway! Within two minutes, two other customers who had been at Simply Subs walked into Subway stating they just left their sandwiches because no one would ring them up! Said the service was horrible last week too. It is quite disheartening that a once thriving, well established, great quality establishment had turned into such a dive. I for one will not be entering there again, nor will I recommend...

I used to eat here all the time.... Loved it..... But honestly the last 5 or 6 times ive have gone it's been absolutely horriable! I ask for cooked onions and mushrooms they either dont cook them or forget totally about them or seperate them on a different sandwich..... Ask for bacon on a sandwich and dont get it.... I figure maybe its that they are busy and just in a hurry (not that its an excuse) so i forget about it.... I ordered today.... Tell them 3 seperate time to cook the onions and mushrooms... The guy taking the order acknowledged that i said this... Guess what..... No muhsrooms and onions are raw.... No bacon on the other burger either.... I know that its not because it's busy becuse im the only person in the store for 20 mins.... Phone isnt ringing.... Person working just standing around.... The only thing i can assume is they just dont care.... Maybe they think they will be faster if they make it how they want.... Not how i ordered it.... This has happened the last bunch of times ive ordered.... Ive even mentioned it to the employees... They just dont care.... Wont be ordering...
