I have just moved to the area so I only gone a few times. I have found some good prices for some second hand furniture however I have found some things that I was personally quite shocked they had even considered worth selling. I am allergic to mold and I specifically asked the staff if they check for this when taking in second hand pieces of furniture. They told me they did but when I had already bought and brought the furniture home. A few of the small tables had cobwebs, lots of dust and one of them had a distinct moldy smell to it. I had to buy some mold remover to hopefully do the trick. The same with a set of knives I had bought. I knew when I had bought the set already in the knife block it waa a bit dusty but when I had brought it home and taken out the knives some of them had rust. It is obvious the knives had been exposed to moisture and the knife block had also a funny smell to it. I didn't risk it. I threw out thr knife block and have bought a rust removal polish that seems to have saved the knives. Laaf but not least, I bought a large home flashlibht in for my apartment. I had asked the staff if it works as it didn't come with a battery and they told me they check each one. Well I went to get a new battery I had someone look at it and in thr end it was cheaper to buy a brand new flashlight with battery included because this flashlight was all rusted on the battery connectors. So I would recommend anyone going there to buy something make sure to take a good look at what you are purchasing. There prices are decent just can be a bit of a gamble if you don't know what...
Read moreI used to really love this place! I would go there to get used items such as a washer and dryer. Even though that particular dryer stopped working the second time I used it. The washer is still going great though.
That aside I don't care for this place now. I still go there occasionally to check it out but while I used to buy a lot I buy nothing now. The prices now are outrageous.
Let me give you an example An ice crapper well used and dirty was being sold for four dollars... What? I'd rather buy one new thanks.
I used to love to buy outlets and light fixtures to rep are my really old house. An outlet that is no longer up to code and is used they are trying to sell for 50 cents. You can get them for that new? What? Crazy. Light fixtures used are 20-30 dollars, similar to a new cost.
I used to bring my stuff here as a donation I don't think I will now. They are selling crap for high prices when a dollar or 25 cents used to be adequate ( and rightfully so) . I don't know what happened to this place. I can see this place accumulating a lot of junk they used to turn over items quickly.
I'm sorry, but until things change they have lost my business and my friends that used to...
Read moreA nice and fair selection of all kinds of good and honorable donations that have been made here. The prices are decent and you can occasionally pick up a thing or two per trip, based on experience.
However, my problem with this location is that they really could use a dedicated pool of staff that would help organize the place better. I know that they must get an influx of donations every day and it's harder to keep up. But that shouldn't mean that they can't get some volunteers to help make browsing their store a little more tidy.
And you could honestly blame the consumer for so long before you realize that maybe the staff should be a little more clean in their building.
I also love to donate to these guys whenever I could. I've donated so many empty DVD cases that they've actually made a little section that they sell them. I'm happy to have seen that they've made some sales or maybe have found a use for movies they must get that don't have cases. That's being...
