Chiquita Rosita's — Restaurant in Barstow

My wife and I were taking a little road trip and had read some reviews about this little spot and had to try it. From the moment we walked in we were greeted with a smile from a lovely lady who turned out to be the daughter and part owner of the establishment. Along with her father, they created a vibrant yet quaint experience for their diners. The experience could only be described as visiting family and trying old family recipes. The Chili Relleno was as good as any I have ever had and put a smile on my face to the last bite! The enchilada and the sauce on the enchilada was out of this world! The spicy salsa (hot sauce) that I poured over my beans and rice was freaking delicious! I had ordered the Chili Relleno plate that came with a Taco also but was much too full to eat it after all the other food and cold beer in a frozen glass. My wife had a taco with her plate and said it was delicious! I took my taco to go thinking normally a couple hours after I eat I’m hungry again and would eat the taco then and even joked with the owner about it, turns out I was happily full all night and didn’t get to the taco until breakfast but even on a reheat that taco was scrumdiliumptious! May 2nd 2025: I tried them out for the first time today. The lady was super friendly, accurate, efficient and appreciated my business. They were highly recommended and for good reason. Their food has an excellent authentic taste, large portions and the prices are fair. I'm looking forward to many more visits to try everything they offer on their menu. I ordered a chili verde wet burrito and a carne asada burrito. Mouthwatering indeed! And OMG, their fresh, green chunky salsa is to perfection! So much that I'm going to purchase some separately. To the owner, congrats on your business and I wish you great success.

May 06 2025: Once again, another great experience. This time I ordered a large rice, bean and cheese burrito topped with more cheese. I had planned to eat half of the huge burrito and before I knew it it was gone. I also ordered flour chips and a 16oz salsa, but I made sure the salsa was the same chunky green hot fresh salsa I had tried days earlier. All this for about $16. I highly recommend this great place. And don't forget to ask for thier chunky...

This is one of the cleanest, coziest spots. Even the restroom is spotless and beautifully decorated. Love supporting small business, especially when the owners take pride like they do here. For sure check it out
