My stop here was completely random. I arrived in Memphis a bit late, and the first place I went to was take out only. So I found this place just a few blocks away on Google. The prices were fair, and the food was very good. I just wish my food had been a bit less spicy. I ordered a medium, but the food that came out super hot. I would rate it a 10 on a 1-10 scale with Thai hot being the only hotter option. My beef salad "yum nah" was hot, it came out first, maybe a 8/10. I was surprised by the spiciness, but didn't specify a level on this dish, so I expected my main entree to come out less spicy. When my pad-see-ewe came out I was completely blown away. The flavor was great, but I couldn't enjoy the dish because it was overly hot. This could have been some of the best Thai food Ive had, but my mouth was on fire, and I had to stop eating and take the rest of the food to go. My friends are surprised by the spicy foods I eat and this hit my stomach hard. 2 days later I was still paying for eating the rest of the plate later that night. I let the waitress know my food was overly spicy.. but I was only offered some water.. I've eaten at dozens of Thai restaurants, and ordered Thai hot many a time, and the heat level of this medium was more than most 10's and as hot as some Thai hots I've ordered elsewhere. Not sure what happened with my food. I would recommend the restaurant because the flavors were excellent, but would highly recommend you be cautious with the spiciness level.

Stopped in today to try someplace new. I had 2 crispy spring rolls and Nam Sod (ground chicken mixed with lime dressing, chili powder, red onion, scallion, cilantro, mint leaves, fresh ginger, peanut and roasted rice powder). It was a salad. First, the crispy spring rolls were good, hot and fresh, but, nothing to write home about. They were like eating fresh mozzarella cheese sticks - one bite and all the filling came out leave just the shell for the 2nd bite. No complaints at all, but just nothing special. The dipping plum sauce wasn't too sweet, it was super thin making it a little difficult to eat while driving. Nam Sod. It smelled so good! It was light and refreshing, but....it was crazy spicy. I didn't mind the spice BUT I was not expecting it at all. My.nose was dipping and my eyes were watering. It was delicious and fresh, I've only ever had a similiar salad with beef, so the ground chicken was a welcomed change. I'd love to try other dishes next time I pass through. Service was great, friendly and super fast. I visited right at 11am when they opened. It was clean and the restrooms were clean and stocked.

Visited on a Saturday. I ordered the chicken pad thai, spring rolls, and curry potstickers. The potstickers are not on the menu, but they were a staple from the previous owners of Thai Bistro. I did not smell food cooking (pretty good exhaust system in the kitchen) were my thoughts. My to go order was ready within 15mins or so. The spring rolls (2) are small, comes with plum sauce, and tasted like a frozen variety, potstickers are NOT the same as the previous potstickers, the curry sauce comes on the side, it is very thin and did not coat the potstickers at all. The pad thai was just ok, but plenty for a lunch portion. I ordered spice level 2 out of 10 and it did have a nice kick to it. Visit and try for yourself, but for me, I can't say that I would visit often.

This restaurant used to be a favorite of my family and I. The food, the service, the experience, it was all excellent. Upon hearing that it was being sold, we were devastated but still eager to try the new place. The settling was clean and all too familiar. We started with some fresh spring rolls and noticed it was default served with "plum sauce" we promptly asked if it could be substituted with peanut sauce as per traditional Thai rolls, the waitress assured us it was not an issue. The rolls were delicious and the peanut sauce was acceptable. For our entrees we ordered our favorites from the previous owner hoping they would at least be similar, red curry and yellow curry. My red curry was not nearly as good as before but still alright and worth eating. My daughter's dish, however, was disgusting and she was unable to even eat it, whatever it was, it did not take like yellow curry. But alas, we boxed it up, marked this restaurant as a disappointment, and were ready for the bill. We noticed right away an unexpected total, reviewing it we noticed we were charged an extra $3 for the tiny dish of seemingly substituted peanut sauce. Which is frankly outrageous considering the rolls themselves we're $2.75. I asked the waitress why we were charged extra when she had previously assured us it would be a substitution for the "plum sauce" and that we didn't feel comfortable paying for something we weren't informed about. The waitress was clearly put off by the request and rudely stated it had already been rung up. She then proceeded to stare at us a bit before ultimately unzipping her fanny pack and quite literally threw coins at us and on the table exclaiming "here, I'll just pay for it". In all years of dining never had I had such an experience as this and was ashamed my daughter had to witness such behavior. Never...

So my girlfriend and I went for dinner here. It was her first time and my second, although I had ate at their previous location numerous times off Germantown Parkway several years ago.

Upon ordering i was surprised and disappointed when my waiter told me they were out of basil. BASIL?!?!

I ordered an alternate and my gf did as well since her first choice included basil. We ordered and our waiter came back to tell my gf that they are out of sprouts.

On a Saturday night a restaurant which many dishes include basil and to a lesser extent sprouts were out of both ingredients. UNACCEPTABLE. It blows my mind that the owner or a manager or a family member, friend, staff could not drive 5 minutes down the street to Kroger to buy these items.

That being said my alternate dish was very good and my gf enjoyed hers as well.

My only other complaint was the few gnats that were flying around our table. They had quite a few to go orders while we were there and I guess gnats are better than flies, but we both found it annoying.

Service was adequate. Perhaps they could invest in larger glasses so refills are not needed as often, but that is a minor issue. Our apps were fresh and tasty.

This could easily have been a five star review. Maybe next time...

FOLLOW UP REVIEW: Have been back twice for lunch since original review and my experience could not have been better.

DECEMBER 2021 REVIEW: Food was fantastic. Fresh shrimp rolls were FRESH...Coconut soup was probably the best I have ever had...Basil duck was tender and full of flavor...only problem was it all showed up at my table all at once. PLEASE work on your...
