Ty's Smokehouse — Restaurant in Bartlett

July 4th 2025 When I called Robin answered the phone. I ask how late they will be open..she says "well last year we ran out of BBQ around 3:30" I should've read the writing on the wall then...like look lady ,do I need to call psychic or what? Just tell me what your hours are.. anyway,I go to the restaurant and order two-Jumbos NO Slaw, Corn-nuggets to-go..it takes 10-15 minutes and my order sits in the window while the young girl looks at her cell-phone...and the box of Tie-dye tee-shirts...she finally hands me my order and I look at it and the sandwiches have slaw in it ...I show Robin and she remakes the order and I'm waiting another 10-15 minutes and she tells me it's right ,she checked it herself...I go home and undo the order and guess what slaw on the sandwiches...so I go back up to TYs and show TY himself and remakes the order and he doesn't even have the professionalism to hand me the order himself and say Sorry or Happy Fourth of July or anytjing .... I should point out at the counter TYs has a sign that says "we will gladly serve you when you're done using your cellphone" really , but I guess their employees can use theirs while helping customers and they have the nerve to turn the Register Terminal towards the customer and ask for a tip , really ?? This is why people aren't going anywhere and businesses are closing dow! ...Robin was on her phone when I walked up to the counter and the other girl was I know it..I saw her .that's why some restaurants say NO Cellphones..because people have enough time concentrating as it is without any distractions... Little ole me can't close this restaurant but maybe TYs thinks it has customers to burn ...i gave a tip and had to drive to the restaurant and back home twice .....Three times between every employee in the building they can't get a simple order right .. I wouldnt hire any one in this restaurant...

Who fired the cook? This place went from epic to pathetic in the course of about 3 months. The must have item here are the BBQ beans. Hands down they have great flavor and a hint of heat that work together in a savory blend. At least that's what I would have told you a while ago. Now they kind of just taste sweet with no heat at all, also someone added some filler white beans to the recipe to stretch out the portions. Not good. With beans so good, you would expect that the BBQ spaghetti would be fantastic! You would be mistaken. It has the texture of a mop that has been sitting in a bucket of old mop water for a week and the flavor to match. Smoked turkey used to be served in these juicy chunks and a good portion. Someone came along and decided to use these razor thin slices instead, which only further highlights the saltiness of the season they put on the turkey. Rib tips are good but sometimes wildly inconsistent, sometimes tough but most times tender and delicious. Their ribs are respectfully done and delicious. You will get a consistently well butchered slab of ribs with the silver skin removed. Some of the better dishes include, pulled pork sandwich, brisket, Iowa tenderloin, pick 2 combo platter, smokehouse burger, and a stellar sauce selection that should please 99% of people. Sadly, sauces do you no good when your portions start to suffer and the food quality isn't good enough for you to put the sauce on. It's sad to see because I once considered this the best BBQ in the Memphis area.

Update: Quality is coming back, turkey isn't nearly as salty as it was and for the price you get a decent portion again. My friends and I are on the edge of our seats biting our nails that this recent trend isn't a fluke and someone has cracked the whip to bring this place...

What a great place for lunch! I met a friend from church there for lunch on a Friday. He had the pork jumbo sandwich and I had the smoked brisket jumbo sandwich. We were both very satisfied customers! The service was great and it didn't take long for the meal to be prepared and brought to our table. I noticed another customer who had a take-out order that was too big for her to carry with the drink order. They helped her get the food to her car out in the lot! You don't see that kind of service much anymore. We are talking, 'Good folks' working here! Reasonable price for the amount of food you get. I trust you will find it a easy-going, very pleasant atmosphere, clean, well-maintained restaurant. I wanted to give it 4.5 stars, but I wasn't given...
