My wife and stopped by today for the first time. Im not food critic, so I canât attest to the foodâs authenticity. However, I know when something tastes good, or not.
We were tired of the same old, same old. You know, typical bland, mundane food offerings from most restaurants nowadays. So we thought we would try Savory Thai today, which is located across from Publix, in the Publix Highland City location, right next to the bicycle shop. The interior was somewhat small, with seating for around 15 people, but it looked modern and about all, clean. After perusal of the menu, which has a fairly large selection of varied items, we made our choice of Massaman Curry for my wife, and red curry (ordered with hot seasoning) for myself. Both came with a generous portion of white rice.
Once we started eating our first bite, we both looked at each other and our eyes lit up. This was good! Flavors filled each dish (we tasted each otherâs), and the flavor profile was new for us. We couldnât get over the flavors, and kept talking about how much we loved it. I ordered a side of egg-fried rice w/ carrots and peas also, but it wasnât needed. The meal portion was plenty for us. Wifey had half left over, because she doesnât eat large meals. Me? I ate the meal, all of it. The fried rice came home with us for later.
We talked to the owner, while there was a break from pick-up orders, and she was a very pleasant woman, who told me they arenât a franchise, just a family run business. Savory Thai is cooked to order, so deletions or additions can be made to menu items.
What more is there to say, wonderful food, clean establishment, and friendly, accommodating owner and staff.

Our first visit, we went to celebrate our fifteenth anniversary and were very warmly congratulated by the friendliest staff one could imagine. We immediately felt at home, and were impressed by the sparkling cleanliness of the store. Granted, it's a brand-new space, but it's obvious they go to great lengths to keep it looking fresh and new.
The food...! These folks know exactly what they're doing and produce a lovely array of genuine Thai tastes. My wife tried the Kickboxing Chicken, and I had the Red Curry with Fried Tofu; hers fit her "spice profile" as-is, and I took a chance - being a bit of a chili-head but knowing that Thai spice is very different - and bumped mine up to medium...amazing! The flavors were greatly enhanced and even more enjoyable. The Kickboxing Chicken's inherent spiciness was more than well-balanced by sweet pineapple.
We also had vegetable spring rolls (crispy and accompanied by a lovely sauce), along with chicken satay (so delicious, with a beautiful, tasty peanut sauce).
We weren't sure about the drinks at first, mainly because we'd simply never heard of anything like them, but went out on a limb and tried a pineapple mocktail with coconut jellies (for her) and I got a mango smoothie with strawberry "popping boba;" again, these were quite well-crafted and the flavors were amazing!
Overall, it was quite a lovely experience, with excellent food and wonderful, happy people preparing and serving it; we're so glad they're our new neighbors and can't wait to get back there and try...

The menu, a vibrant tapestry of flavors, offered a variety of traditional Thai dishes with a modern twist. I started with the Tom Yum soup, which was a delightful symphony of spicy and sour notes, awakening my palate for the main course.
For the entree, I chose the Pad Thai, and it was nothing short of spectacular. The noodles were cooked to perfection, the sauce was rich and flavorful, and the balance of textures from the peanuts and fresh lime was a masterful touch.
The service at Savory Thai was impeccable. The staff was attentive without being intrusive, ensuring that every aspect of my meal was perfect.
As I finished my meal with a refreshing Thai iced tea boba, I couldnât help but feel a sense of gratitude for such a culinary gem. Savory Thai isnât just a restaurant; itâs a destination for those who appreciate the art of Thai cuisine.
I left with a full stomach and a happy heart, already planning my next visit. For anyone looking for an authentic Thai experience with a dash of culinary excellence, look no further than...
