My wife and I along with another couple, went here for supper Friday night when they have free live music in the outdoor patio. We decided to stay inside since it’s been so hot and we wanted to have quiet conversation. We seated ourselves since we appeared to be the first guests for the evening. Our waitress Samantha came to our table promptly with utensils and menus and took our drink orders. I had heard the chicken fried stake was awesome so I decided to try it as did our friends. My wife chose the chicken tenders and curly fries. Our food arrived all at once and quickly. The chicken fried stake was delicious and so were the potato wedges and dinner salad. My friend was not impressed with the macaroni and cheese but the chicken fried stake was also delicious. The chicken fingers were exceptional and the curly fries came in a miniature deep fat frier basket … a nice touch. We ordered the key lime pie for desert which lacked a strong lime flavor and the texture was almost like cheese cake. Overall the atmosphere is very nice and regardless of two exceptions the food was very good. We plan to go back again soon and try one of the...
Read moreWas so thrilled to eat here after reading all these wonderful reviews. Tentatively tried it a few days ago, with Covid safety in mind. (Side note: wait staff did not wear masks) We ate on the patio. Food was delicious as expected. Problem came with our checks after. We had separate checks. In my check folder there was a very prominent business type card sticking out in the spot reserved for your credit card. We all noticed it right away. I was the only one who got one so everyone was curious as to what it was. A frequent dining card or something? No. It was a religious card titled “The A.B.C’s of Salvation”. The First line: “Admit that you are a sinner who has broken God’s law.” It went on from there, filling both sides of the card. Was I singled out as a sinner by my waitress? Do I have a scarlet letter on my forehead? Was I embarrassed by this? I tried to laugh it off, making light of it. But everyone at the table felt a bit weird. I am a good person, very polite to everyone I meet and have no idea why my waitress felt the need to save me after my lunch. No one else, just me. Not quite what one expects at the end of a...
Read moreWe love supporting local businesses so we gave this place a try. The atmosphere and people were inviting. The menu is limited but with variety. They also have daily specials. Hubby got the fish sandwich special and I got the Reuben. While it took some time to get our food, it was not an unreasonable wait. Although the fish sandwich with fries arrived hot, hubby said the flavor was lacking. It was not a dish he would order again. My Reuben….well….was….simply pathetic. The sandwich was barely room temperature. There were 2 very measly pieces of corned beef, a thin slice of Swiss cheese and less than a tablespoon of sauerkraut on the whole sandwich. It was a struggle to classify this a Reuben. At the price charged for this sandwich I was extremely disappointed.
Although the waitress was attentive, she never asked how our meal was. Another waitress who was helping her never asked either. I had to wonder if it was because of the pathetic presentation of my meal.
I will be hard pressed to return for another meal. Maybe the...
