Very disappointed this restaurant is gone way down in my opinion. I came in for lunch around 12:30 in the afternoon and there was an average size crowd. I purchased the lunch number five burrito meal and they initially brought chips and salsa to me. The chips were extremely stale. I got a fountain drink, and that was served in a nice new cup. When my mail arrived, the beans were just very soupy, and I was unable to eat them. After working my way through an average burrito. . I got a fountain drink, and that was served in a nice new cup. When my mail arrived, the beans were just very soupy and I was unable to eat them. After working my way through an average burrito I asked if they had any flan for dessert and they said no. In years past, that was one of the things I looked forward to because it was generally homemade. Very disappointed in my experience today and I don’t believe I’ll be coming back anytime soon. I should also note as you walk in in the store evidently they allow people or employees to smoke out front near the front door and it really smells bad. I don’t believe this is the exception but rather a regular thing. Not a very pleasant smell as...

Have been here several times, and the food has always been so so. I cannot comment on the food tonight(2-23-24) because we walked out when we saw they still have not corrected their terrible business issue. After tonight, we probably won't be back. When we want Mexican in the future, we'll drive elsewhere. The problem remains that the menu prices are, and have been for months blacked out. And the customers are being grossly overcharged. They charge you anything they figure they can get away with, and if you don't ask the prices, when you get to the register you'll overpay. And of course, if you refuse...they'll call the police and swear they told you that taco was $22.00. I know of no other restaurant who does not post their prices on their menus. Their motives are crystal clear as they continue to over charge their customers. They are certainly able to have new menus printed...IF THEY WANTED TO. They'll not get another dime of my money as long as they blatantly continue to take advantage of...

Came on a Recommendation: Left disappointed. The chips were cold and slightly stale Salsa left somewhat to be desired (tasted a bit Sour) Wife Ordered a Special Dinner - a Feast for the eyes, for sure! I ordered the Fajita's Taste wise: The fajita's tasted like they were cooked in Italian seasoning rather than Mexican. Far too "tomato-y" The Special Dinner - Again - while it was a great treat for the eyes - the food was simply lacking any real & Proper seasoning. The decor of the place was very vibrant and pronounced - No issue there at all. I would have thought if anything the food would be a bit too well seasoned for the average Non-Mexican palate. Might try again now that we are aware of general taste - but - not likely. You might love it... We...

The staff are friendly and attentive the building itself and atmosphere is pretty good, at this particular San Jose they unable to serve the caliber of food one would expect. I've been there several times now hoping that they were having a bad day and things would be better but I was wrong. I like fish tacos and order them because they are tasty and relatively easy to make but somehow San Jose is able to make less than tasty fish tacos. The fish taco should be made of grilled tilapia fillets or whatever type of fish you choose but they some kind of mushed up fish that are in chunks instead of a nice crispy piece of filet. I used to frequent the San Jose in West Columbia on a weekly basis and never had this problem there so I have to imagine that it is the cooks.

San José in Gilbert is one of our favorite restaurants to visit regularly. We enjoy the atmosphere and love the exceptional service we always receive. The bar area is fun and has just about ever type of Tequila you could wish for! It is often busy when we visit but the staff always manage the customer traffic well. They are courteous and provide refills very rapidly which shows how much they pay attention to their guest needs. The food is excellent. Try the queso bean dip, it's fantastic! I usually get the San José fajitas and they never dissapoint. Stop in once and I guarantee you will be back. Enjoy!
