Mi Rancho — Restaurant in Batesburg-Leesville

Ever been banned from a place for complaining about service? Well, that's what happened to me tonight here. Me and my friend came in because she is moving to Florida and what better place to take her than to my favorite Mexican restaurant. We had ordered our drinks and food and we're sitting and waiting for our food. A couple comes and sits down behind us and it takes them about ten minutes before they order. Their food came before ours and they were talking about how hot their plates were. The our food came out and our server actually let us grab our plates. That has never happened to me there. Plates have always been way too hot. My friend ordered a Burrito with beef and I ordered a shrimp taco salad (always was my favorite there.) She cuts into her burrito and takes a bite and says it's cold. I took a bite and it was. So I tell her maybe the middle isn't so bad. It is ice cold as well. The cheese on my taco salad was in two giant clumps and it was filled half was with refried beans. I only took two bits and couldn't do anymore. We tell our server and then go up front to take care of the issue with the manager. He tells me he can only take off the burrito even though I told him my salad wa terrible also. So I give up and decide I'll call and ask for the owners number when I get home. When I call I find out this manager is supposedly the owner. I told him that was the worse service I have ever had and he tells me, "You need to decide wether the service or food was bad." So I argue with him on the phone for about ten minutes and he finally says, "Lets make a deal, you come get your money and I never want to see your face again." I agreed because I was already planning on never returning. I am very angry with how this "owner" handled...

The food was good but it was not exceptional! Update: 4-3-2025 Oops, I tried it again hoping for a different outcome. Meh, once again, the food was very marginal and I talked to a less than receptive gentleman working the counter to place my order to go. I ordered my wife two hard shell tacos with some grated cheese on the side. I was trying to get two fish tacos and learned that they did not put cilantro on the fish tacos. To my surprise, their standard of preparing a taco is to throw some shredded iceberg lettuce and cheese in it and call it done. Almost every other Mexican restaurant in the area serves their tacos with cilantro or a mixture of cilantro and diced onions. I tried explaining this to the gentleman but it seemed like I was asking a complex unimaginable question that was unsolvable. I tried to ask if I could substitute cilantro for lettuce and drop the cheese, but this seemed like an impossibility and as mentioned, he was way less than enthusiastic and seemed to be more interested in his phone. After much negotiation I purchased a burrito and a fish taco for myself thinking that I was getting without the lettuce and cheese and substituting cilantro. Nope, when I arrived home and opened it up I found a fish taco with lettuce and cheese on it, Cilantro was nowhere to be found. There are so many Mexican restaurants in the area that this one is no longer on the list of possible destinations by the way, my burrito was okay but nothing special and the total for three tacos, a burrito and some beans and a...

Went to sit down and have a good meal with family and friends. Everything was great at first found a roach in my daughter‘s food brought it to the waiters attention. He took it to the back, came back And said he was sorry and if we wanted something else and was laughing about it. I told him no I did not want nothing else that I wanted to speak to a manager. And in the meantime, I’m sitting there with my family and friends and the waiter and the other workers were over in the corner, laughing and pointing like it was funny. When I told them that I didn’t see nothing funny about it that I wanted to speak to a manager they got on the telephone still laughing about it. Apparently, there was no manager on duty, so I was not able to speak to the manager. I wish I would’ve taken a picture of it so I could post it on here, but I was so mad and furious that I did not even think about it at the time until I got up and left. This was my first time coming to this place. My friends said that it was a great place. I Would have gave it no stars but for some reason, it’s making me put at least one on there. I do not recommend this place To go eat. I understand restaurants will have bugs, but for them to sit and laugh about it like it was no big deal is what really threw...
