Two stars for the small, but delicious pizza. Unfortunately, their boxes contain roaches. [No. We do NOT have roaches in our (new), very clean, home.]

We'd eaten in there, a couple of times, and everything seemed fine. The next time, we ordered a pizza for take out. My husband went inside to pick up the pizza and handed it to me in the car. Immediately, a roach ran out of the box, onto the top, and freaked me out. My husband confirmed that it WAS a roach, and not wanting it in our car or home, we stopped and shoved it into a garbage can.

So, a year or so later, Bisson's was closed, so we decided to try The Cabin again. I brought it home and put it onto the kitchen counter. Immediately, 2 roaches came scurrying out of the box. Thank God, I had a napkin in my hand and killed them. Needless to say, the pizza immediately went into the garbage, and was taken outside.

Last week (gluttons for punishment, I guess) Bisson's was closed again, so my husband convinced me to try them one more time. I opened the pizza box in the car, and it looked fine, so we took it home. I put it on the kitchen counter, next to the sink. We both had a piece, and my husband went to wash his hands, and 2 roaches were on the kitchen counter. He squashed one. The other ran into the sink, and he killed it with a piece of paper towel, but you could still see what it was. We double-checked by looking at pics of roaches online, and it definitely was one. Now Im totally freaked out, Again! As before, I'm worried that one might've gotten away, and is making a nest somewhere now. I scrubbed and disinfected every inch of my kitchen, so hopefully, we're good.

Now, we all know that ALL restaurants have to battle rodents and roaches, but, this indicates that they have a severe, unchecked, ongoing, infestation there. (Are there disease carrying, mouse droppings on/in the boxes too?) And, they clearly don't seem to care.

We can't possibly be the only ones this has happened to. I wonder how many complaints they get (and ignore). The Health Department really needs to get in there, and force them to rectify this before people start getting sick. (Probably already are, and have no idea where...

I have been visiting The Cabin since I was a child. The food has ALWAYS been delicious and consistent. When I plan to order, I get the same pizza‐toppings, every time. My fav is pepperoni & (fresh) mushrooms ... why change such a perfect pizza!? F.Y.I. their steak and cheese subs are also perfection! I personally enjoy 'em rather plain w just steak, cheese, mushroom, salt & pepper – nothing else required. AND, if you like stuffed mushrooms, get theirs – NO ONE has those on their menu, anywhere! I like freshly‐cooked mushrooms. (can ya tell?) The building‐itself has remained as‐is, for the most‐part: save for one newer back room, and the outdoor patio area ‐ dining outside, during the summer, spring & fall time is fantastical! There has been one consistent face working there (that I recall) the entire time ... though I can not remember her name — she's ALWAYS been there, greeting customers, and working hard. Additionally, my mother, Nance, worked there back in the late '70s, as did I (briefly) in the mid‐'90s. It's always been a cozy, comfortable place for me ... feels a lot like "home."

Lately, it looks as though (unfortunately) they're struggling to keep it staffed ... since the pandemic, it seems. I wish nothing but the best for them. I DO hope they are able to get some hard-working individuals to help keep this AMAZING place alive!

I've been going to the Cabin for years. I love the atmosphere and the food is delicious, but I was extremely disappointed with the service we received yesterday. We ( 6 of us) had gone there to have a birthday dinner for my 88 year old grandfather. My mother received her food half an hour before the rest of us. When they finally came in with most of the rest of the food they realized they had given her someone else's meal. My son had ordered his meal about 10 minutes after the rest of us. We all finished our meals, and continued waiting for him to receive his. My grandparents were tired but didn't want to leave before he ate. Finally, we asked about his meal (it had been an hour and a half) they tried to tell us that they brought it out with the rest of our group's food, but they had not. They realized they had never put his order in. He asked for a refund, because we had somewhere we needed to be, so he had to stop somewhere else along the way to get food. Which made him late for the event we were attending. We were all very disappointed. It wasn't even very busy at that time. I understand they also do take out, but this...

We were out-of-state tourists who were looking for a good local place for dinner, and The Cabin did not disappoint. It feels like a place with a tremendous sense of local history, where the person sitting in the next booth could be a local lobsterman in for the day, or a steel worker who just finished a shift at the Navy shipyard across the street. They are cash only. When you enter, take a menu and find a seat. When you've figured out what you want, go back up to the cashier to place your order. They'll ask you where you're sitting and will call your name to find you when they bring out the order. We had the supreme pizza and the garlic knots. The pizza was loaded with a thin, New-York-style crust, the perfect amount of sauce, and an edge crust that was flavorful and perfectly crispy/chewy. The garlic knots were amazing, with a very generous amount of flavorful marinara for dipping. It was so good, we almost went a second time when we were in the area, but the timing with other obligations didn't quite work out. But we'll definitely be back if we're ever in the area again.

Writing another review about The Cabin restaurant in Bath, Me, they have the best pizza around and you get to eat in an old Historical building where rumor has it, use to make ropes for the boats. The shipping yard is right across the street so it makes sense. Parking in a lot next to the restaurant. Big place, old wooden booths when you walk in and in 2 other rooms on the right and left side of the restaurant. The counter is the order and pick up and pay place, cash only, ATM close by. Beer/ 4.00 a glass and they sell pitchers also. Large selection of can soda, no ice. We ordered and picked a booth. It was busy and took about 40 min to get our pizza delivered to our table along with paper plates and real silverware. Our pizza was a large, sweet and spicy red sauce with ample toppings and cheese, well done, it was delicious and cooked perfectly. Best pizza bar none. They also make a small and a 28” party pizza which is a monster size. Give this place a try and be patient, it gets crazy busy but so worth it. Debbie/ Mich
