Not terrible, just not good overall. Location was good, at the corner of Perkins & South Acadian Thruway just off of I-10. The building was nice inside & out. Service was subpar. The waitress was moderately articulate, did not come across as invested in her job, & was not very attentive, we had to flag her down several times even though there were not many other patrons. I had the shrimp/fish platter. There were two small pieces of fish that looked & tasted like previously frozen, and eight medium/small shrimp. The waitress said that two sides came with the meal but did not say that they were $3 extra. My wife had the Butter Bean Plate but there were only two very small shrimp and no (0) Tasso ham in the beans. There were six in our party and they charged 18% gratuity which completely eliminates the incentive for the waitress to be friendly, polite, and professional.

My wife and I love char-grilled oysters. One of our go-to spots didn't have them or didn't have crew to cook them, so we figured an establishment with oysters in its name surely could produce a decent oyster. Not the case on this day. I get that restaurants are still having staffing issues, but this wasn't a staffing issues. Two guys were in the oyster station. They were both either too busy shucking oysters or chatting with customers or staff to watch the grill. Our oysters were cooked way to long. On top of that when you plate oysters you should probably make sure all that all oyster shells actually have an oyster on them. Two of my wife's did not. At almost $30 a dozen it's tough to not get what you pay for. I did speak with the manager on the way out. I thought maybe by sharing the experience, possibly some improvements could be made.

We decided to take a drive and pick a spot from the internet. I chose this one. From the pics (or my closed mind) I thought this was a white tablecloth establishment. It is NOT! Upon walking in I badly wanted to walk out but I was there for the oysters and decided to give them a try. I got a dozen of the chargrilled. Other than them being really small the char was right. I then decided to get the grilled shrimp dish. Not in my smallest dreams did I think they would have boq sauce on them. The dish reminded me of something I let my 13 yo niece make and smile to make her feel good. The hush puppies were ok tho. The hubs had some type of fish with gravy ontop. Another first for me. Would I go back? Nope! There's plenty of spots for oysters. And to think we passed a Drago's to get here! Shame on us!

Little disappointed with this trip. Chargrilled oysters were very good, fried catfish was great. Fried oysters were not great, batter fell off when you touched them not crispy at all. Fries were soggy and not near cooked enough. Potato salad was very dry and flavorless. The onion rings were cut way too thick but tasted ok. The crawpuppies were enjoyed by all they were good.

Just made another visit for a to go order, It's been quite a while and decided to give them another try. The 3 stars I gave before remain the same. Was underwhelming for sure. For $116 dollars for 5 people lunch we expected better. The medley plate was mediocre at best, the seafood gumbo on it was maybe some of the worst we've had, and a very very small portion of jambalaya and red beans to go with it. The bread was all not toasted and quite stale. The fries on the captains platter were soggy and undercooked. The fried shrimp while really small tasted good, the fried oysters were good and the catfish was as well. The Boo fries were the worst thing, they take the good idea of sending the roast beef and gravy on the side for them to go but yet they melt shredded cheese on the fries in the to go box, so they were a solid block of hardened cheese and fries when we got home with it. We had to slice it into chunks with a steak knife and they were less than mediocre, the roast beef topping wasn't great and was cold. The butter beans and sausage plate was probably the best thing and what kept me from lowering the...

I took my wife to lunch at Acme. My wife has an egg allergy so we are always very careful about asking about whether their menu items contain any egg product. We called first to inquire about their fried seafood dishes. The hostess put us on hold so she could tslk to someone in the kitchen if any egg product was used in preparing their fried food dishes. She came back and told us their fried dishes are egg free. We told our server when ordering that my wife has an egg allergy and the importance of making sure she did not get served any egg product. We asked him to check with the kitchen as to whether egg was used in preparing their onion rings. He came back and said no, so she ordered onion rings. Later that day, my wife began getting symptoms of egg allergy. We called the restaurant to inquire if the onion rings contained egg. They told us that they do use egg in preparing onion rings. We are now on day 8 and my wife is starting to feel better but she has been very ill for the last 7 days. So the lack of concern or complete incompetence of their staff has basically stolen a week of her life. How horrible. The food is very bland, average at best. If you have any allergies, please beware. Typically, restaurants that have multiple locations like Acme, have an allegern menu. Acme does not have one. This tells me they do not seem comitted to ensuring the safety of...

What a terrible experience. Definitely will not be back. Our server was not attentive at all. She was gone for long periods of time and did not even bother to refill my husband’s drink so basically he paid for one fountain drink. We put in an order for oysters and about twenty minutes later, the server told us it would be a while because they were backed up. Understandable but we noticed plenty of other people were getting their oysters plus our entrees came out well before. Finally we asked her to take them off which she said she had to talk to her manager. The manager took them off and came to talk to us. He said he took them off our check but he still wanted us to try them. We thanked him and waited and waited and waited. Again, other people were getting oysters. We asked for the check and boxes and still nothing. Why even say anything in the first place!? The manager didn’t even come back over to see if we had gotten them. He walked by several times. Our visit was today, March 2, 2024, around 1pm. We weren’t looking for anything free but don’t say something and not deliver. That means your word is worth nothing and we will gladly take our business elsewhere where oysters come out before the entrees and if there is a hold up someone doesn’t wait twenty minutes to say something about it. Food was not great for the price...
