Dumpling and Bao(Siegen Ln) — Restaurant in Baton Rouge

Dined in and ordered the vegetarian dumpling noodle soup. I took off one star because there was a black smudge or some sort of dirt that I noticed and pointed out to waiter. He didn't know what it was either and walked away.

I very big on attention to detail and if I was the cook plating meals or server, I would pay attention before serving any dishes.

Everything else was good (e.g. flavorful ,egg rolls, moist chocolate cake). The cucumber salad was not bad. I only wish the chili sauce had more kick to it. I took the cucumber salad home as leftovers and the sauce spilled in the bag due to a slight opening between the base and lid of the plastic container when closed.

Overall, the staff was very hospitable and quickly brought items upon requests. The price is reasonable for what I ordered. And the restaurant is very cute, vibrant with great Chinese hanging scrolling paper to add a welcoming touch of being in a Chinese restaurant.

From Korean BBQ to Hot Pot and now, Baton Rouge finally has a Dumpling & Bao spot too. The million-dollar question everyone's been asking: "Is it worth it?"

Yes - definitely worth giving a try!

I had such a great experience at this boa and dumpling spot! The food was absolutely delicious — the bao buns were perfectly fluffy and flavorful, and the dumplings had that perfect balance of tender dough and juicy filling. Everything tasted so fresh and made with care. Our server, Vanessa, really made the meal even better. She was warm, attentive, and genuinely friendly without ever being overbearing. She gave great recommendations and made sure we always had what we needed. It’s clear she really cares about giving customers a great experience.
