I want to say that I always go to this store normally donât have problems but do get stares. I go to the one on Siegn Lane in Baton Rouge because it is close to my shop. Today at 4:21 I was treated so unusual as normal. The second I walked up to the register I felt eyes on me. Then the lady said out loud register 2 and 3 is now opened. I looked over they both had a long line too. Iâm playing on my phone waiting patiently in line. She walked up to me you can move to register 3. I thought I was doing something wrong because the Person in front of me was about done. And there was more than me in line waiting but I was next and she was done ringing them up waiting for her to pay, but as I looked around me I realized I was the only person there who wasnât white. I just moved to the next register since it was such a big deal for them and was ready to hurry up out of there. She was still talking to me I just ignored and continued on to get my things and go. That really hurt my feelings and I never felt so uncomfortable and counted out like that before. Like I hear about it but never experienced it. They wonât ever have to worry about me again. I will go where my money is valued. They need to do better with the type of ppl they hire to be engaged with customers. You shouldnât be bias knowing ppl of all types shop there. Treat everyone the same. She said nothing to anyone about moving on what register was opened but me. She was in her own world line long as can be. Soon as she saw me she jumped up. Oh 2 and 3 opened. Then looked seen they had a long line and going to say oh they have a line. Yeah because you wasnât paying attention until you saw my black self. I guess my color make me some criminal. Iâm...
Read moreThe store itself is what one would expect from a hobby lobby. It's always fun to go through and see what you can be inspired to do next so if you have not been, you should go.
đ I'll tell you a few things to be aware of outside of maintaining your budget. Yes, it's easy to blow your whole paycheck here in a split second.
â First, don't expect any genuine help from staff. They seem to be there for the hours and not for the hands-on do it yourself core ideal from which the brand was born.
I know. Me too. Sometimes you need an educated opinion. If you didn't want real time info on something, just buy whatever the faceless, nameless, talking robot, tiky-toky video says you should buy.
It'll be less frustrating to make returns than it is to ask 3 people the same question and get 19 different answers (and isle locations). Just don't expect apron wearing staff to be very helpful.
â There is very rarely a time where there's more than two checkout counters open. I sincerely appreciate the cashiers wrapping each and every item with a handful of paper, but slowing down the checkout process, it does most assuredly. Plan accordingly.
â Can't beat the amount of stuff they have in here and you can't beat the premis of why the store exists. They've got a ton of stuff so a solution is likely there, but good luck finding it or asking anyone for a map.
Take the advice and just make plans to spend a solid amount of time poking around to find things and research product specifics before going in.
âBonus tip! Don't count on the website to be accurate in regards to inventory. Either it's always wrong or it was put in the wrong place never to be found again....
Read moreYou can't beat hobby lobby for their selection of crafting items. If you need glue, they have it. If you need beads, they have those! Silk flowers, craft kits, paint brushes, children's art kits, photography, home decor.
There are two things that hobby lobby does not have. They do not have barcodes on any of their products, which means that the cashiers must hand code every purchase. The second item that they do not have, are cashiers who are pleasant with the customers. I am certain that there are phenomenal cashiers! However, the one that I was unfortunate to be in line for was extremely unpleasant. I do not think she understood the system as she kept calling over a manager. Once the manager would give her an answer and walk away, the woman would mutter rudely under her breath. She complained the entire time I was at her register and made the experience quite uncomfortable...
