You know, it’s a rare thing these days to find someone who excels at product knowledge, people skills, and listening to the customer’s needs. Alex is one of those talented individuals. This is the third purchase I’ve made in the past 20 or so years from Mattress Firm on Siegen (first at the newest location). I shopped a lot—online, local furniture and department stores, etc. I went to MF today and walked out with a secure decision because of Alex. He listed to my price range, comfort concerns, and questions. He took his time with me and addressed everything. I never felt like he was pushing for an upsale. That was a bit of a litmus test for me. It became very clear that Alex respected my intelligence and provided relevant insight to help me make the best decision. Alex is outstanding. I grew up in BR, and this is the kind of customer service that was common in locally-owned stores like Sherwood Magnavox, DH Holmes, etc. It’s the kind of service that you rarely find in big box stores. Alex would be an outstanding trainer for any business. His type of skills are those that make for return customers. While I was trying out mattresses, I could hear the kind of polite, conscientious service he gave to customers on the phone. It made me write this review—good service, professionalism, and building confidence in products—well, they are definitely something to celebrate and share with other shoppers. Integrity, business sense, and people skills. He is smart and dependable, and you will feel like you truly know what you are getting, even if you walked in with a lot of knowledge to begin with. I'm rating only based on the visit to the store and the purchase as my mattress and bed have yet to be delivered (more on that later). The sales associate (Marquetta I believe it was) was extremely helpful, knowledgeable, and professional. With no pressure, she did a great job showing us the options and letting us choose for ourselves . The sales process went without a hitch - at least to us. A few times, she had to call for assistance but quickly got what she needed and completed the process.

Regarding delivery, we were scheduled for this past weekend and never received the promised phone call the day before. We were on the look out for the "867" area code so we would answer but it never came. We called the store late that day and was indeed given a window during which the delivery would occur. The delivery truck showed up on time but with a problem - they didn't have the base on the truck. We then called the store back and were told they would deliver the next day. The next day we got a call and were told it would be another week. I'm starting to get a little worried based on some of the delivery feedback comments...

My husband & I relocated to BR due to Hurricane Ida after losing most of our belongings & having to start over we purchased a mattress from Mattress Firm in Metairie, however, the one we were advised to purchase did NOT work for us and was causing lower back pain and lack of sleep. Ray listened to what we needed and he explained each mattress qualities & benefits that would or would not work for what we needed which helped us purchase the correct and most comfortable mattress for our needs.( As well as pillows !!). Ray definitely understands the importance of a good mattress & how it affects your sleep quality and health. He was patient, friendly and is very knowledgeable at his job.
