Busy (Good thing). Here’s what’s NOT a good thing...
Making the mistake of ignoring a customer while he stands patiently through your breakfast rush... waiting his turn....
And then being completely ignored (not even so much as a “good morning”), and then passed over in favor of a customer that was in closer proximity of the hustling associate once she was free to engage her clientele.
I get it... I understand.... Breakfast rush is crushing.
.... but have the common courtesy to ASK... “Who was next please?”
**I’m giving them an “out” here with the “proximity” excuse - they knew I was in front of those people. There were 4 customers that came in after I did, and not immediately either.
I stood there... patiently.... quietly... for over 6 minutes. I know this because of the time stamps on my phone. Not that I minded waiting my turn. I’m a good citizen. It’s what’s right and good.
What’s even worse is that NOT ONE of the customers that came in the store successively to my arrival said a word. Like it was a.... normal occurrence.
So. I left.
Anyone asks? I’ll tell them, “awesome bagels... but if you’re Brown.... expect a delay....
Read moreFood is extremely underwhelming in portion size and quality, and not only did they get my order wrong, they also gave me old/stale bagels 😂 the audacity, especially when they just opened up for the morning… I ordered the New Yorker, a breakfast steak, egg, and cheese bagel on jalapeño cheddar, and a Philly cheesesteak hoagie. The fillings for the New Yorker were adequate, but the bagel was old and definitely not fresh. The cheesesteak and breakfast bagel had barely any meat inside, with is outrageous considering an item is $11~13. Inside was extremely dirty as well, with most tables and chairs being covered in food or mess. If you are a big NYB fan, I’d suggest going to another location or just skipping this place...
Read moreI don't have high standards for service in Baton Rouge. So when my very low standards aren't met, it's always a bit of a surprise. That said, I will not be returning to the Perkins location of New York Bagel Company.
Uncomfortably warm inside, which I'm sure is more annoying to the employees. No greeting upon walking in. The employee could barely be bothered to say hello after I said hello to them. Employee took my order without saying much of anything. Then my order was wrong. Can't say I was surprised.
The food was warm and freshly made, so there's that.
I won't be returning. There are better locations of New York Bagel in...
