Smoothie King — Restaurant in Baton Rouge

The service is always friendly and fast, well, as fast as can be while taking the time to blend one or more smoothies. So yeah, it takes a few minutes, moreso if you're with a group or ordering for others; but that's just unavoidable. There's a drive-thru window a lot of folks seem to miss. I liked strawberry-banana flavors well enough, so when in doubt I tend towards the Muscle Punch, or Immune Builder, or the Angel Food, which isn't as strong flavor-wise, but is sweeter with a additional light vanilla-like taste compared to the first two. Also the pumpkin or zucchini bread is pretty good, just poke it in the package before buying as sometimes it can be very dry. They used to do stamp-cards, maybe they don't anymore and just try to get everyone to use an app, I don't know. But the stamp cards don't track you and come from renewable (possibly recycled) resources, apps and required smartphones (and backend infrastructure/power consumption) most likely do not. So I'd choose the card or lobby them to offer it, if only on privacy/access/sustainability grounds. YMMV.

Most Smoothie Kings have pretty good stuff--at least most of the time. This one is even better than most on the service scale, but perhaps the best way they impressed me was by NOT trying to shove King Cake smoothies down my throat. They asked but not constantly in a really misleading manner. Quite frankly, I think they are either supposed to ask or there is a competition for who sells the most. Regardless, they do it just enough to say they did. When I stopped at a few different Smoothie Kings recently, I was bombarded with Oooohhhh do you want to try our new King Cake smoothie. Ooohhh it comes back every year. Ohh boy. IT WAS HORRIBLE!! I thought it might have been just me. I had my grandson try it, No way. Then my daughter came home. I told her we had gotten a new smoothie that we didn't like too much, but we all know how different taste buds are; do you want to try it? Her answer... You don't mean that king cake thing do you? I didn't like it at all. Had I stuck with the place that has employees with a little more discerning tastes, or maybe more honesty, or maybe that are simply encouraged to try the products, I might never have...

I usually go in am Monday - Friday. I baby sit my twin boy grand babies born December 14, 2021 premature. My father my hero passed that morning. Sign indeed! I met this amazing young man Ervin who is the regional manager at Smoothie King. We formed a friendship and I consider him an asset to the Smoothie King family! He brightens my day every morning and such drive, dedication to detail. Ervin can major multi task for sure! He is amazing always a smile on his face! He has a godson "King" so precious! He recently took King and some of his family to Disney World, how special is that! But that's how this young man is and his performance to give it 150%. I am blessed to have this energetic, humble , young new friend! He is definently going places! Hope Smoothie King recognizes his worth to the corporation.
