Let's start with the positive before the negatives. It is a keto friendly Italian restaurant. Portions are smaller than what you will be used to at an Italian restaurant, butbthats good because you don't have to deal with over eating or bringing home left overs. Bread was warm and they had herb butter with ground fresh garlic separated to put on bread. It was good. I ordered the 3 cheese mushroom appetizer. It was good, plated nicely. I also had the parmesan chicken. It was alright. My husband had the lasagna. He didn't care for it. The negatives were after we seated ourselves, it was slightly awkward because server started asking us if we were members and went into this long speech about how the food here was cheap because most people were here, because they are members and they buy bottles of wine. Honestly, at that point I was wondering if we had to become members to eat there or if we had to leave. So, I asked her if we needed a membership? She then said no but then she went into the menu and how everything is fresh and how people drive from Seattle just to have their Lasagna. I just listened politely, and then just as she gets to the end of menu she shares that when we are ready to order, we go up to the bar to order. Okay, it just seemed odd that after going through that length of detail of the menu items, that she wouldn't be there to take our order. So, then my husband comes back from ordering with a number to put on our table. I guess I was really mislead by all the really great reviews I read and had higher expectations of the restaurant. I really expected to have this more formal romantic date night for our anniversary dinner. It felt very, fast food-ish.... with a weird membership only feeling twist? I felt really stupid when she brought us our food because I had to ask her if we go back to the bar to order our dessert. She said, yes or if we noticed her walk by we could call her over and ask her for it. I just want to make sure that if you go here, you know it is a membership restaurant. Had I known, I would have picked a,different restaurant. It is informal, you seat yourself and you order at the bar your food. That being said, if that is something you preferred then this would be a good fit. Just don't go in thinking it is a traditional Italian sit down restaurant. That is the reason for such a low rating. Non of the reviews I read talked about these points. Not bad service, just awkward and uncomfortable, not bad food just average, and it was small like a coffee cafe not regular mid size restaurant. Seating was even set up like a coffee cafe with flexible seating. Combo of chairs and coffe tables with tables and chairs and 2 booths with a table and then a bar. My husband and I will not be going back because it is just not or thing. I was surprised when my husband shared he was really disappointed in his Lasagna. Especially, because service worker had said people drove to Battleground from Seattle to...
Read moreWow! This is a true hidden gem in Battle Ground. My husband and I usually head to downtown Vancouver or Portland for a really good dining experience….so it’s very exciting to find a place in BG that’s really good.
We really enjoyed: *the tomato basil soup w/ mini grilled cheese (so freaking good) *pasta (I got spaghetti and meatballs…meatballs were just ok, but the pasta and sauce were fantastic….my husband had the stuffed shells which were great) *homemade cheesecake with berry compote *Delicious Italian red wine
We also really appreciated that the super friendly owner came over to chat with us and told us more about the restaurant and gave recommendations.
Thank you, Team Galeotti’s for a fantastic evening. We will be back and bring family...
Read moreWe were initially greeted by the owner who immediately explained that the restaurant was actually a membership restaurant, but he was happy to have us there for dinner. Then he spent 10 minutes explaining things, and left and for 20 minutes no one even looked at us. My wife finally had to flag down one of the servers who wouldn't even look at us until she was grabbed by my wife literally. Then when we got the food there was a mountain of cheese on everything that made the food in edible. I had what was called lasagna rolls which were two undercooked lasagna noodles wrapped and covered with sauce and so much cheese that when you try to stick your fork in it just was stuck. With so much cheese it was impossible to even take a bite, and was kind...
