Don't waste your time and money here. This place was a total disappointment which was so upsetting. First, I made reservations and did not get sat at the reserved time. Second, the waitress did not come to the table for the first 30 minutes of the meal to even get a drink order. Third, she was never the one to bring out the food or any other items besides a coffee once. Forth, it took an hour and a half to get a small bowl of soup for the appetizer. Fifth, the entrees came out with the appetizers and it was all ice cold; when the waitress was notified of this, she brushed it off and said that the kitchen has been "off" for a while and did not do ANYTHING to resolve the issue. Sixth, no mention of pesto was on the menu for the pasta I got (allergy to cilantro and parsley which are both common items in pesto) so if I did not catch this, I could've been hospitalized. Seventh, food itself was overpriced for tiny portions ($31 for 4 shrimp and a cup of pasta with minimal add-ins including a few wilted pieces of spinach, 1/2 a mushroom, and 2 cherry tomatoes... nothing else...). Eighth, atmosphere was awful with children running around and screaming. Ninth, the meat was tough and did not fall apart easy as promised by the waitress plus it was extremely dry. Tenth, mashed potatos are flavorless and dry like the meat. Eleventh, the carrots were hard as rock. Twelfth, the blue crab bisque had no actual crab in it. Thirteenth, the coffee was weak and watery; absolutely not worth $4 per cup. The only thing that was half decent was the taste of the pasta (once the pesto was removed of course). Fourteenth, after telling the server THREE times that we did not want dessert, she still proceeded to tell us all about the offerings and refused to leave until we picked one; we ended up telling her to please bring the check and that we were leaving immediately which she was highly offended by. All we wanted to do was leave after being stuck in there for 3 long, frustrating hours. Needless to say, my whole party left still feeling hungry and not wanting to even bother boxing up the leftovers. Do yourself a favor and go anywhere else. Also, as I was entering and leaving, all guests at this restaurant looked highly dissatisfied with their meals. That in itself should've been a telltale sign to turn and run from this place. Do better Disney. This was the worst experience I have had at ANY dining location in the hundreds of times that I have visited a Disney dining...

3.5 is probably a better rating. Love the food, love the ambiance, love the location.

My reasoning for removing stars stems entirely on quality of service. This seems to be a common thing in Disney, many of these servers are 'grandfathered' in. Obviously Disney waiters/waitresses are making a killing on a consistent basis. But due to them being grandfathered, there is a distinct lack of competition for the job. My girlfriend and I are quality tippers, however, we fit in the category that we would seem we wouldn't be. We are young, no kids, and we ask questions about things we are unsure about. From time to sit down, it was 83 seconds till we were talked to, fantastic. That's how it should be. Unfortunately that would be some of the best part of the service.

After we ordered our water, she returned in only a few minutes and we then ordered our drinks. From ordering the drinks it was 7 minutes till we received them, less than ideal for sure. At the time the drinks were delivered, we asked for more water. Our water would not be refilled till our food arrived 8 minutes later.

Next to us was a party of 8. Obviously a built in 18% gratuity was built into their bills, as well as additional possible. I'm sure our server took home $250+ from that table alone. The attention they got was, of course, significantly more prompt than us, a table she was only going to receive a $20 tip from. I am understanding to a point, when it's been 5+ minutes for you to just get us our check, but you've quickly gotten the table next to us, sugar, checks, and coffee in the time between us asking for the check and receiving it, I can be frustrated.

I'm being critical because this is Disney. And again, this is something I've noticed at multiple restaurants: The Wave, Whispering Canyon Cafe, Crystal Palace, and now Ale and Compass. They have all had lackluster service when you're a young 20s couple.

If you're a family of 4-6 and your bill is going to be over $200, I'm sure you'll experience great service.

To briefly speak on the food, it was excellent. I got the Angus which was cooled very well. The arugula was nice with a little vinegar on it, and the bread spread made a...

This beautiful restaurant is located in the Yacht club on Disney property. The parking is small and took me about 15 minutes to find parking. Note: there are some resorts that will only allow you to park 30 minutes before dining reservation. I think it has to do with some people like to get on the sky liner, explore the resort, etc. causing the guests that have hotel reservations to not have parking.

Okay, back on track, sorry, trailed off a bit.

Once we found parking, we walked in and the restaurant is located on the left hand side ( they have a bar lounge, sort of next to that)

We checked in about 40 minutes early and got sat down 5 minutes later.

We sat down and we’re given the menu. My daughter and I chose the following: Braised short ribs Garlic pasta ( apologies, forgot the specific name) Truffle fries Apple cobbler with ice cream 12 layer chocolate cake

My daughter had the ribs and she loved them, very tender and not too sweet. It came with a vegetable mash ( mashed taters with some veggies )

I had the garlic pasta with spinach, mushrooms. They were large, thick noodles , super tasty. Large portion for one person.

The truffle fries were amazing! It was my favorite!

The 12 layer chocolate cake tasted great but we were hoping for a bigger piece lol. The slice we got was pretty small and it was like 9 dollars.

Apple cobbler was great too, hot filling with ice cream on top.

They gave a small amount of ice cream though.

Overall, love the experience and the food, I highly recommend this place!

(Over price for two people that order a side enhancement, two main entrees and two desserts plus a 20%...

Ale and Compass is a comfort food restaurant located in Yacht Club. This restaurant is less expensive than it's neighbor restaurant, Yachtsman's Steakhouse. The restaurant was clean, and had a very coarse atmosphere. Did not feel like you were at Disney World. However, the restaurant was not busy and was able to have conversations with our large party of 7. The service at the restaurant was nice, but took a long time to get the appetizers. I will forgive them for that. The appetizers served were very good. The rolls had a very good texture and seasoning. It is even better with the cheese spread. The buffalo cauliflower had no breading, and can be argued if it's better or not. However, the Cauliflower was very good and had the right balance of heat and flavor. Now it's time for the main course. I had the fish and chips. The fish was very easy to cut up. Most people fail making it easy to split. Had very good flavor, as well as the fries. The grilled cheese had many different cheeses blended in together, and was very good that way. The people with the cheeseburger and the tacos said that their food was very good. The flatbread had a very good quality, but the sauce is very spicy. The person who got the bagel sandwich said it was one of the best bagels they've eaten, and had very high quality. Overall, this restaurant is very good compared to other restaurants at Disney World. Is a great way to escape the crowds of the theme parks. Had a great value for a table service restaurant at Disney. Is very enjoyable and would recommend eating here before venturing off to EPCOT or Hollywood Studios.

Another fantastic meal that did NOT disappoint. Nestled in the very appealing Yacht Club resort, this nautical them upscale restaurant was an excellent choice for dinner. While we did not order it, the New England seafood pot pie was an impressive piece of culinary art! (Quite a few tables around us ordered this as their meal) My wife went with the New York Strip (cooked blue rare - perfectly prepared to the correct temperature just as she likes her steak). She did not use the house made steak sauce, but it looked to be very good. The fries were a little heavily seasoned for her (perfect for me) and she LOVED the watercress salad. I opted for the pappardelle and added chicken. The presentation was very elegant (took picture AFTER I had already mixed everything together), and it was delicious. We were both very pleased with our choices. And the Moscato we had with dinner was very smooth, light, fragrant and extremely good. For dessert, my wife had the pudding trio (the chocolate was like a thick paste - not enjoyable). The raspberry and butterscotch were excellent. I chose the lemon "rind" meringue pie. This was the the shining example of sheer culinary artistry. This was something I was unsure I would ever be able to try myself, but have seen ambitious desserts like this on many cooking shows. The presentation was a show-stopper, and the dessert itself was absolutely amazing. This meal (including the service) was excellent from beginning to end!! Another must-try!

We ate brunch here on a Saturday morning. We were warmly greeted and seated within minutes of our reservation. Diners have the option of ordering an entree or the buffet, which includes an entree, beverage (coffee, tea, juice, or soda), and buffet items (yogurt parfait, mixed berries, overnight oats, cinnamon rolls, croissants, mini muffins, orange bread, cheddar biscuits, and sausage gravy). There is a variety of entrees to satisfy a sweet or savory appetite. We ordered the buffet and each selected orange juice with the American breakfast, which came with two eggs, choice of bacon or sausage, toast, and a good serving of home potatoes. We added a press pot of coffee, which may be ordered for one or two servings. My spouse also ordered a Bloody Mary, which was well balanced. The buffet was a nice addition to the entree, and I would say it is one of the best value meals we have had. We really enjoyed the cheddar biscuits and sausage gravy. It was a breakfast that stuck with us until dinner, in a good way; we felt satisfied but not overstuffed to walk around the park. We came back for dinner with friends on another Saturday evening. We enjoyed a wonderful meal with dessert and cocktails. Our friend has a gluten allergy, and the restaurant had a separate menu of allergy-friendly options. Everything was delicious and cooked to order. Our server was attentive and friendly.
