Catalina Eddie’s is a convenient outdoor quick serve spot on Sunset Blvd (on the way to Tower of Terror) offering pizza, salad, and meatball subs. We decided to try all three, and I was pleasantly surprised. I’ve seen some reviews saying the pizza wasn’t great, but I disagree. It was hot, fresh, with melty cheese and a good amount of sauce. The crust is on the thicker side, so if you’re a thin crust fan, this might not be for you, but I enjoyed it.
The meatball sub was solid too. While the bread wasn’t my favorite, it was sturdy and held up, which is key when you don’t want a messy sub at Disney. The Caesar salad was a good size, but it was a little on the warmer side since they pre-make the cups, kind of like how McDonald’s pre-makes their fries to keep the service fast.
A nice bonus is that you can get free cups of iced water here, which is great for staying hydrated in the park.
You can either order at the counter or use mobile ordering through the Disney app, which makes things super easy. This particular day, the cast members did not acknowledge me for quite a while when I arrived the mobile order. They seemed “busy” doing their job. It only takes a few seconds to say “will be right with you” as you’re filling water or putting food under the heat lamps.
There’s also plenty of outdoor, covered seating, shared with Rosie’s All-American Café next door. There are fans and heating lamps to make the seating area comfortable, no matter...
Read moreMy boyfriend & I ordered via mobile order and immediately headed over when the app said, "Your Order is Ready." Upon arriving, we waited in a line, longer than the one for non-mobile orders, and our food wasn't prepared. Mobile orders were prepared once you got to the front, so it would have been much faster to order in the regular line instead of the app which makes ordering on the app pointless. We finally got our chicken caesar salads and went about our day. My boyfriend made a comment about the lettuce not being cold and the chicken looking a bit rubbery but we didn't question it. We had dinner with my parents in Disney Springs that night, and the next day, my boyfriend & I got very ill. My doctor confirmed it to be a stomach virus which lasted almost 6 days. It had to be this place because neither of my parents got sick and my boyfriend & I had different things for dinner (so it wasn't from dinner) - it clearly was what we had for lunch which was at Catalina Eddie's. We're annual passholders and this experience makes us not want to eat in the parks again for a long time. I understand the parks especially at meal times get busy but getting people sick is not okay and the whole experience of trying to pick up the food was...
Read moreSpending more can easily be done. I found the line at dinner time, ordered a personal cheese pizza and fountain drink. I realized the pizza came with a small salad. I asked the person at the counter that handed me my food & drink if could get a fork & straw. She referred me to the person that took my order. I asked her the same question. She told me I could get those from the person at the counter. Since I wasn’t sure if I’d eat the salad, I let the issue drop until the review. Since nobody would help me with usually free items, I will not recommend this restaurant. If you do want to visit, I had to use my phone and Disney map to locate it since it’s a little ways from the usual path. The tables are not part of only this restaurant but shared with others. I guess the time varies on a wait if...
